Is there anything that is more eye-glazing than asking a stranger to listen to you describe your dreams and then explain them to you?

I'm only asking because I had this dream... stop me if you've heard this before... where I am in a Baskin-Robbins and trying to choose a flavor of ice cream for a double-scoop cone, or maybe two flavors, since they let you do that, and I can't make up my mind, so the person behind the counter (they looked bored and I dunno creepy maybe, too) gave me some samples, but they were all bits of shit, and thrown at my mouth by the creepy serving person (I can't remember their gender, but yeah I'm sure they were creepy now that I think) but they kept missing my mouth and hitting this bear, or maybe a dog, or a furry whatever (I'm not really sure, but they weren't there to begin with; they just appeared) and the bear, or whatever, hit me and I fell onto one of those little round tables that nobody sits at, unless they have like a 4 year old kid with them, and I asked where was the bathroom? Wait. Am I boring you? Because I can stop.

to dream that you have lost your mod powers suggests that you are doubting your ability to regulate your creative impulses. your conscious, rational mind (*mod powers*) may struggle to verbalize/regulate/censor (*edit, delete, ban, etc.*) the intuitive, imaginative thoughts (*posts, threads, posters*) that emanate from your right brain (*message board*). you are a highly productive person, and with a little more structure and discipline, your self-expression will blossom beyond your wildest dreams. keep on truckin'!

alternatively, losing your mod powers in a dream may suggest that you have lost your mod powers in real life, in which case you should contact an admin or higher mod to resolve what may be a simple misunderstanding or system glitch

I wonder if the dreammoods.com dictionary is the work of a single person

XXXP

Ice cream is often consumed standing, unlike proper meals, which are typically taken sitting down. Defecation usually requires sitting or squatting. As the dining/defecating reversal in Buñuel's The Phantom of Liberty suggests, there's an affinity between "civilized" meal-taking and defecating. The sweet treat of ice cream is different: only people who are already "in shit" because they have small children (who cannot stand for themselves, at least in a controlled fashion, and eat ice cream at the same time) would sit at the Baskin-Robbins table. In this light, the furry creature suggests some repressed childhood toy, a remnant of another time without bodily control. And flavor indecision is another kind of lack of control — it's difficult to take action if you don't know what you want (the things people can do to you on the playground, while you're just thinking…). Yet letting someone else suggest to you what you might want is infantilizing, degrading.

If, on the other hand, all of the people in the dream are in some sense you, it may be that you yourself feel contempt for some nagging unresolved problem in which all of the choices seem equally bad, even if at one time the prospects might have delighted you. (The server’s creepy boredom, in Jungian terms, suggests a shadow figure who “know better.”) But if you go to the toilet, you can be assured that you have can take responsibility for your own metabolic functions, and you also don't have to choose, because the body chose for you. Thus, regarding this nagging unresolved problem, you would like the decision to emerge, as it were, naturally, without the work of taste or intellect.

Also, when I was younger I used to think that vanilla resolved heartburn. Now I know that if I have ice cream after dinner I will almost certainly experience reflux and reduced sleep.

It all becomes so much clearer now when you explain it to me.
