Apart from my shoes which are under the coffee table where a bunch of issues are kept, lolzzzzer. No, which website/magazine/other does the job of The Face in 2007?

HA! Super Super is basically a strange little fanzine that no-one buys, insn't it? It's a scene thing like Faith or Socialism but instead of writing it has pretty pictures. The Observer Weekend magazine has more in common with The Face than that...
Tank was a brief contender for The Face crown, but then it kind of got a bit rubbish and it's not mass market enough.
Oh and I'd go for The Face = classic. Great articles and fun not dour like I-D and Dazed.

I find it weird that the only magazine I would probably still buy is not published anymore (see also MUZIK).

but yeah MIXMAG as we've discussed many a time i think has changed a lot in the last 18 months since the take over. MUZIK it aint like but what is?

SELECT!
I was wandering through my old copies from the golden era a while back. Such a wonderful mag. I was even laughing at Moody DJ, even though it was funnier in my head than it was in reality.

at least it has pretty decent covermount CDs.

Reviving it in the men's market with a former FHM editor at the helm = bad idea.

bit of a surprise, what with i-d going quarterly or whatever. i'm sure there's a gap in the market for a non-twat-oriented general magazine for twentysomethings of either gender.

i-D going quarterly? really? wow.

piscesx, Wednesday, 3 June 2009 11:18 (fourteen years ago) link

I was always under the impression that a lot of Face readers were women, which is why trying to relaunch it squarely in the men's market doesn't seem to make sense.
