Stanley is also my personal Mandela Effect, mainly because (as he admits in his hugely entertaining biography) he wasn't going to come out until after his death, and his biography weirdly ends with his 'death' - people gather for his last moments and he fades away. But then an epilogue that says he didn't actually die after all is is frail but fine.
So weird that he outlived Victor Lewis-Smith, who did so much to promote Stanley's life, achievements and place in British comedy.
