what y'all think of the new eminem??

http://www.eminem.com/notafraid/

at least he seems a little more focused on the mic and rhyming with a little more passion again...track is a little dreary faux dramatic shit but i dunno...better than poo poo pee pee insult comic eminem

you better check that sausage before you put it in the rofl (M@tt He1ges0n), Wednesday, 12 May 2010 20:55 (thirteen years ago) link

it's pretty terrible imo, why on earth is he working with jim jonsin

some dude, Wednesday, 12 May 2010 21:43 (thirteen years ago) link

i think em's career at this point is just carried forward by some misguided sense of obligation

you better check that sausage before you put it in the rofl (M@tt He1ges0n), Wednesday, 12 May 2010 21:46 (thirteen years ago) link

yeah.....it's weird how for years he'd barely collaborate with anyone outside Aftermath, now he's all up for being on fuckin' Drake and B.o.B. records.

some dude, Wednesday, 12 May 2010 21:57 (thirteen years ago) link

Eminem should just stop rapping.

rennavate, Wednesday, 12 May 2010 22:03 (thirteen years ago) link

ummmmi somehow missed this but....this is trae on an ELECTRIC WIZARD sample, or it might be a reinterpolation cuz it sounds way less sludgy than the original

"Rumors" is the next single to be released. The song is about all the rumors that Waka Flocka Flame deals with the public saying about him.[3]

J0rdan S., Thursday, 13 May 2010 02:02 (thirteen years ago) link

Afaic, I have not heard any rumors about Waka Flocka Flame.

i am giving you the viking of compliments (The Reverend), Thursday, 13 May 2010 02:08 (thirteen years ago) link

that's cuz you live in the NW

J0rdan S., Thursday, 13 May 2010 02:09 (thirteen years ago) link

out here all of the public is always spreading rumors about waka flocka flame

J0rdan S., Thursday, 13 May 2010 02:09 (thirteen years ago) link

maybe this is a diss to whomever he was complaining about for referring to him as lyrical

nick (killah priest), Thursday, 13 May 2010 02:21 (thirteen years ago) link

so how bout that new Cam/Vado am i right!?!?!?

interested to see if you all start liking this after some of the custodians of rap-blog taste have all of a sudden woke up to it

sliiiiiiime

surfboard dudes get wiped out, totally, Thursday, 13 May 2010 13:41 (thirteen years ago) link

don't get the love for vado srsly

pollos da don (tpp), Thursday, 13 May 2010 13:43 (thirteen years ago) link

it's almost as if there hasn't been very much good rap this year so people are really reaching for things to talk about on blogs

contl;drizer (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 13 May 2010 14:10 (thirteen years ago) link

yeah thats true but also

its good

and araabmuzik is undeniably killing it. no one is really coming close to him this year. and it's just great to see an old stalwart come back with great music like cam and fab a few months before

surfboard dudes get wiped out, totally, Thursday, 13 May 2010 14:37 (thirteen years ago) link

also when some guy named Roc marciano is getting hype, you know there some sort of void...so maybe youre right a little bit but i still think the second two entries in this trilogy are genuinely exciting, progressive music for this space

surfboard dudes get wiped out, totally, Thursday, 13 May 2010 15:10 (thirteen years ago) link

i guess my prob is that i'm by nature pretty skeptical of vado & haven't seen anyone (even noz or tom b, both of who mentioned something about the vado tape yesterday) articulate why he's good or why i should spend my time listening to this mixtape other than the fact that he has a cool ad lib (welcome to 2006?)

contl;drizer (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 13 May 2010 15:25 (thirteen years ago) link

& i really didn't like the last cam'ron album, pretty much at all - it had like 3 good songs

contl;drizer (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 13 May 2010 15:25 (thirteen years ago) link

first of all crime pays is dope.

second, i dont understand why someone has to articulate why a rapper is good. just listen to him. this isnt like a liberal arts writing workshop

surfboard dudes get wiped out, totally, Thursday, 13 May 2010 15:39 (thirteen years ago) link

what's a vado song i should hear.

also when some guy named Roc marciano is getting hype, you know there some sort of void

why shouldn't he? he's a good rapper.

you better check that sausage before you put it in the rofl (M@tt He1ges0n), Thursday, 13 May 2010 15:40 (thirteen years ago) link

your credibility as to what would be a dope Cam'ron album or Cam'ron protege is strained in the same way that the lex calling J.Lo a great pop star doesn't really mean anything, because if someone's never displayed an ability to identify a bad example, what use is their idea of a good example?

i turned of that roc marciano after like 1.5 songs. tbf i knew going in it was likely not_my_thing so ymmv

johnny crunch, Thursday, 13 May 2010 15:51 (thirteen years ago) link

okay i'm assuming "stop it five" is the big vado song....i'm listening to it.

like i don't get why this "progressive"

it sounds like dipset, maybe a little more like, i dunno, jeezy or something. it just sound like a current rap song.

why is this more progressive than roc marciano?

you better check that sausage before you put it in the rofl (M@tt He1ges0n), Thursday, 13 May 2010 15:53 (thirteen years ago) link

btw i actually like this pretty much, just wondering at what y'all definitions of what's moving shit forward is

you better check that sausage before you put it in the rofl (M@tt He1ges0n), Thursday, 13 May 2010 15:54 (thirteen years ago) link

xps pretty sure lex would give you a whole long list of people he considers bad pop stars, but your point remains

i am giving you the viking of compliments (The Reverend), Thursday, 13 May 2010 15:54 (thirteen years ago) link

weird the youtube comments to that vado song i posted are all arguing about whether or not "five" means some five pointed blood star and whether that's really a blood thing and whether cam's really a blood and whether east coast bloods are real and etc etc

you better check that sausage before you put it in the rofl (M@tt He1ges0n), Thursday, 13 May 2010 15:57 (thirteen years ago) link

i have no credibility. this is news to no one.

vado is clearly not progressive. cam/vado have progressed the post-dipset/post-mixtape ny 00s sound though mostly because of araabmuzik and just by creating a genuine new movement by themselves. it sounds new. noz and tom breihan are not the thousands of people out there that are checking for new cam mixtapes and spouting catchphrases that his new underling created.

surfboard dudes get wiped out, totally, Thursday, 13 May 2010 16:00 (thirteen years ago) link

im not gonna come on here and say who isn't a good rapper or an exciting/progressive whatever rapper because 99% of what's out there is boring and we all know that.

lol u fuckin herb

i am giving you the viking of compliments (The Reverend), Thursday, 13 May 2010 16:04 (thirteen years ago) link

this is way better than the stop it five song...really like the beat...shit, the beat almost reminds me of old DJ Shadow kinda haha, but a more street version
