i've got a couple cds by christine 23 onna, an outfit apparently consisting of masonna and one of the women from angel in heavy syrup. the more recent and fully developed of the two is called acid eater, and it came out sometime in the early 2000s. acid eater (the band) and their virulent fuzz punk a.c.i.d. lp = an expanded version of christine 23 onna, with vocals and an an emphasis on the proto-punk side of 60s acid. really great stuff: chaotic garage punk run through the space modulator, spit out all discombobulated, leaking cosmic rays. they've got a new lp called black fuzz on wheels, supposed to have been out a month or so ago. haven't heard it yet, but it's said to be more rock, less noize.

angel in heavy syrup also highly recommended, though their sound was different: dreamy, pretty folk psych halfway between early and late opal, but way more epic and abstract.

listening to black fuzz on wheels. more produced, less a ball of undifferentiated ball of flailing garage punk noise. and it's cool, but not quite up to virulent fuzz punk standards. though the guitars are satisfyingly crumbly and distorted, the vocals are relatively clean and way up in the mix, which as it turns out is nagl for mr masonna. nice bass playing and recording though, and i like that the mix makes way for some electronic psych moments.

They cover one of my favorite 60s punk tunes, too:

Oh yeah, and Christine 23 Onna's first album is awesm too, they cover C.A. Quintet and Cromagnon and it's extremely noisy, less of that (deliberate) exploito-instrumental vibe on the later stuff.

Acid Eater also has a 7" vinyl thingy, but the title escapes me at the moment. I think it has the word "dirty" in the title, but then it would almost have to. If not Dirty it would need to be 'steel wool yr frontal lobe' or 'flaming shrunken head delights the anus' or some such delightful insanity. I rather enjoy the cheesy sixties b-movie soundtrack vibe of the 2nd Christine 23 Onna, but it depends on my mood.

is this stuff readily available in n. america in a physical form?

Pretty sure the Acid Eater things are. The C23O discs MAY be out of print... Not sure. I would check Eclipse Records, Forced Exposure, Aquarius Records & places like that.
