The original starcraft caused me to flunk out of college the first time. I would play that shit for 20 hours a day.

my pc has an NVIDIA GeForce 7150m / nForce 630M, which should be good enough, I think.

This beta test is pretty awesome. It's a lot like the original SC, but I feel like the races are a little more differentiated and have a definite flavor. The existing units and abilities kind of got shifted around so it's a very different game in that the strategies are different, but the gameplay is nearly identical to the original.

In one hour I will playing the beta on my Mac. Woohoo!

I played against a friend of mine who's korean american and he was almost as fast. tbh I don't think it's difficult to achieve that level, you just need to be willing to put in the time to slog through all those practice sessions. it's not really any different from being really good at touch typing or any other kind of twitch gaming.

Starcraft II being a 3logy is old news y'all! The full game is shipping multi-wise though, I think the later installments are going to be just single-player with additions to multi kind of like expansion packs. Except that they're gonna charge full price for each and make them standalone. Blizzard's not used to not making a trillion dollars on every release, see.

this game is so great! bear in mind i hate multiplayer and will probably never do anything except the single-player campaign.

i feel the exact opposite about the single player, i feel like they missed so much fo what has made SP storytellnig better in games over the past... how long ago did HL2 come out? 10 years?

seriously, why is everything in a goddamn cutscene? the in-between levels shit feels almost liek sam and max in its "i guess i am doing sometihng, because i click a thing and then i listen for 45 seconds" nonsense (minus the sam and max jokes-ness of it all). TALK TO ME WHILE I'M PLAYING. it's not insanely hard. to be fair i'm 3 missions in but i have decided i don't give an eff about the cutscenes already, and i am kind of not that dude usually. now i'm pissed that i am missing all of the (enthralling, i'm sure) story.

will this run on my old macbook pro? tf2 is barely playable even with a ton of custom config stuff, hl2 is ok tho

I have to say I really like the trial mode for this- just got a code from a friend, and it looks like it's the whole damn game, just locked to 7 hours of play. Downloading now.

yeah, i think trial mode is the whole game. my b.net name is Karl if anyone wants to add me, i just play it at my friend's house tho, so i'm not on that often.

I think to add people you need either:
a) their b.net name AND code (you see your own when you bring up your friends menu)
OR
b) their email addy

Now that I've played more than a hundred games of multiplayer, I find myself falling into a rut of the same build order over and over. I just tried a Marine/Thor combination just to shake things up a bit. Didn't really work.

Um. Wow. Not a multiplayer guy, at least for RTSs, but the single-player in this is great fun. The writing is pretty weak, but the production values are outstanding- you can really see where the gajillion dollars of Warcraft money went.

Somehow I've found myself watching lots of competitive Starcraft again. I had assumed it was dead but it seems to be going strong. I don't understand some of the new units since I haven't played since Wings of Liberty.
