feel like starting a tumblr where i post lil b videos where he's wearing jewelery that my grandmother would wear to a museum party

This Is Lil B, As he searches to find the meaning and himself,
watch as he moves through the streets,
this is not a song this is more like an emotion.
Take what you feel you need to take from this and listen,
also let Lil Bs Voice Become one with the beat for you.

this verse from 'the worlds ending' is really dope imo

why in school they ain't teach you bout the taxes
in the real world maine its all about taxes
all about tv and living above average
where the fuck you stay and all about your status
what the fuck you drive to the size of your mattress
how big ya chain and the girls that you're smashing
how much you work plus the time you relaxing
time spent in jail and in the streets savage
mixed with the robbing the stress and the addicts
mixed with the greed and the guns and the havoc
mixed with the weed and pills and the acid
killing off my people and the media is laughing
heard about the past but the present is whats happening
probation slavery pissing for the master
the cops is the gang and they really beat your ass
and the courts is the mob and its run by the cash

pollos da don (tpp), Saturday, 1 May 2010 05:17 (fourteen years ago) link

yeah totally

ibaka flocka flame (J0rdan S.), Saturday, 1 May 2010 06:00 (fourteen years ago) link

when he randomly slides in to actual rapping it's very weird

ibaka flocka flame (J0rdan S.), Saturday, 1 May 2010 06:00 (fourteen years ago) link

you guys would like non-rap rapping more than actual rappers

& jordan did u ever end up listening to a jack or hus album or are u still basing this off 3-4 youtubes

Gifted Unlimited Display Names Universal (deej), Saturday, 1 May 2010 19:14 (fourteen years ago) link

ive been really feeling this old hus track lately

i kinda like the j stalin album, i just don't want to listen to it very often. i'm not saying nu-bay is dud or anything, just kinda boring and the tone tends overall is a bit too serious or dry for my tastes. just cause i like young l more than those dudes doesn't mean i don't like actual lyrical rappers, i'm just not crazy about that partic scene.

passion of the wein (samosa gibreel), Saturday, 1 May 2010 19:18 (fourteen years ago) link

oh c'mon deej

you're making a pretty shitty appeal when you've posted 20 youtubes itt imploring ppl to listen to them and then go "WHAT?? ARE YOU STILL BASING THIS ON YOUTUBES???"

ibaka flocka flame (J0rdan S.), Saturday, 1 May 2010 19:20 (fourteen years ago) link

what young L am i missing that is so good?

Gifted Unlimited Display Names Universal (deej), Saturday, 1 May 2010 19:20 (fourteen years ago) link

are you asking me to post full albums jordan? i dont understand your criticism here. i mean, ive basically written & published shit explaining the appeal of this. im not sure what more you want from me

Gifted Unlimited Display Names Universal (deej), Saturday, 1 May 2010 19:21 (fourteen years ago) link

that lil rue song is really dope

ibaka flocka flame (J0rdan S.), Saturday, 1 May 2010 19:22 (fourteen years ago) link

i'm saying i've heard an album's worth of material

ibaka flocka flame (J0rdan S.), Saturday, 1 May 2010 19:23 (fourteen years ago) link

or don't post youtubes & then say "stop basing your opinions on the youtubes i post itt"

ibaka flocka flame (J0rdan S.), Saturday, 1 May 2010 19:24 (fourteen years ago) link

rmde

yes a bunch of random youtubes where im takin a shotgun approach to get maybe 1-2 songs to catch w/ a group of ppl with diverse tastes is exactly the same as listening to a classic lp like 'huslin since the 80s'

Gifted Unlimited Display Names Universal (deej), Saturday, 1 May 2010 19:26 (fourteen years ago) link

what goofy pack stuff are u guys digging more than j stalin, hus and jacka -- ive listened to a bunch of lil b but hes by miles the most inconsistent and has one of the more annoyingly lil wayne esque flows in recent memory -- i kinda think his weirdness thing is charismatic but im not sure it strikes me as goofy fun or something, just weirdness to its own end. and i dunno, this bay stuff doesnt strike me as particularly 'serious' at all -- i mean, its all unafraid of R&B hooks and diverse production styles, painting it as overly serious is super o_O to me

Gifted Unlimited Display Names Universal (deej), Saturday, 1 May 2010 19:30 (fourteen years ago) link

this jay elec is cool of course but im getting really kind of annoyed by the whole UH OH ITS AN EVENT atmosphere around each track he makes.

Gifted Unlimited Display Names Universal (deej), Saturday, 1 May 2010 19:32 (fourteen years ago) link

the pack mixtape surfboard dudes posted on one of the first posts itt is great, i've been listening to it pretty regularly all year.

passion of the wein (samosa gibreel), Saturday, 1 May 2010 19:36 (fourteen years ago) link

ill check it out i guess, id heard mixed things
i probably slightly overrated the j stalin, at least in the sense that i still find myself coming back to gas nation more than prenuptial, but i still think prenuptial is a great album & that stalin is an extremely engaging rapper

HÖRDKÖRE
The only new rapper I have hopes for doing something that haven’t been done before, while bringing back some desperately needed honesty in rap lyrics. Stay Based, stay emotional and original Lil B,

Much love from Norway.

was thinkin about what samosa g said -- although i havent gotten a chance to check out the pack mixtape yet -- i think youve kinda got the mob figaz stuff twisted if you think its all super serious ... and L actually has done beats for jacka, like "addiction". theyre not that distant

what i dig abt jacka and hus over the jerk shit & all that is im really tired of scenes FOR THE KIDS when the first rappers i got into werent on some sreynolds style 'scenius' b.s. (well, they were, but they were ALSO strong personalities) and im really digging that theres gangster rap from rappers who feel like actual-rappers, that i follow, like raekwon or pac or scarface or guru or whoever else

Gifted Unlimited Display Names Universal (deej), Monday, 3 May 2010 02:17 (fourteen years ago) link

haha as if I don't like "actual rap". fuck off.

WE THE VIKING (The Reverend), Monday, 3 May 2010 02:28 (fourteen years ago) link

sorry, that was uncalled for. I'm just still heated from another thread.

WE THE VIKING (The Reverend), Monday, 3 May 2010 02:29 (fourteen years ago) link

i was obv trolling

Gifted Unlimited Display Names Universal (deej), Monday, 3 May 2010 02:40 (fourteen years ago) link

but on the other hand, saying the pack >>> jacka kinda feels like trolling to me so

i feel this, i just wish i liked the dudes as much as you do. following souljaboy and lil b youtube channels is only half as rewarding as it is retarded and soul-crushing, but that's just the flip side of following dudes like big krit and yelawolf and gucci.

on a whole other note, these st louis youtubes on the cb tumblr are killing me. i'd been meaning to check out hollywood colorz since 'set em out' was posted on yalls blog but i could never find the mixtape its supposedly a part of.

waka khan (samosa gibreel), Monday, 3 May 2010 02:52 (fourteen years ago) link

i know serg follows that stuff much more closely than i do, u should email him about it -- hes into the crunk-ier side of the spectrum tho

Gifted Unlimited Display Names Universal (deej), Monday, 3 May 2010 03:00 (fourteen years ago) link

as far as the mob figaz guys, if you havent, i really recommend checking an album out and giving it a chance, theres def a cumulative effect thing going on ...

the other day i was thinking that it would be awesome if jeezy did a mixtape over every 'deeper than rap' beat & that's kinda what it seems like 'trap or die 2' is gonna be sonically

lol the idea that there are autogoons that don't do this. or that everything has to be about gangster rap. why can't we just enjoy jerk peacefully like one of the thousand party rap scenes there has ever been?

it doesn't stop me enjoying hus/jacka/whatever but i feel like i came too these guys too early. (like our discussion about pill/freddie actually) there is obv talent, and whereas say pac would have honed his skills messing around on tour w/ shock g until he felt *ready*, these guys have their work instantly put on the internet. you compare them to important figures and lots of these new dudes have potential but with dance rap scenes you don't have to worry about that shit, just enjoy yrself. not eerything gotta be a srs discussion for srs ppl.

this is totally wrong dude. if anything, jacka's alraedy peaked and compares perfectly well with 'important figures,' and has classic albums under his belt, as does hus. this is nothing like Pill or Freddie & ill be shocked if either of them (particularly Pill) ends up w/ a classic record

Gifted Unlimited Display Names Universal (deej), Monday, 3 May 2010 12:22 (fourteen years ago) link

'jack artist' and 'hustlin since the 80s' are already considered bay area classics
