good stuff! I go once a month now the Klinker is gone, so I might be there then.

If we're leaning to the west side of central London I suggest The Ship in Fitzrovia.

Amazed I've never seen you at boat-ting, xyzzzz__ - we must just be overlapping/missing each other (I'm a fairly irregular attendee, but have been irregularly attending for a while).
I think the Klinker is only taking a year's sabbatical, you'll be pleased/horrified to know.

lol, that was regular meet-up pub of non-ILX internet pals of mine for years, fapped there a few times when I was over. (nb the beers are not especially ace Sash, but everyone just drinks on the street in order to smoke so you'll be good.)

Yeah that's strange, must try and synchronize. Though I should say its been once a month so far this this year (once in Feb, Mar and Apr). Before that I used to go to the Klinker, mostly.
Its good news about the Klinker but I'm not too confident that it will return...

I do like a nautical theme. Bit of a hike from where I am though.
― Willing Travelbury (S-), Friday, 30 April 2010 05:20 (thirteen years ago) link
It's not too far on the tube - getting people to head over to Kensington may be tricky but somewhere nearer the Circle Line might be better for you?
― Matt DC, Friday, 30 April 2010 12:28 (thirteen years ago) link
I have no idea? I'm right next to the Gloucester Road tube. Whatever's a good trade between being easy to get to and awesome.

Well this was a roaring success, Willing Travelbury and, uh, me. Anyway he is here till Wednesday, if anybody else wants to FAP with him, a fine fellow he is too. Also he'll be at Faust gig on Sunday and Boat Ting on Monday... get it together ILXors!

Yes, 'tis a sorry state of affairs when a Trayce FAP garners more members.

So the dear Glasshouse Stores is officially Freaky Trigger's #1 pub of the 00s, entirely due to its FAP reputation. Great days.
― Matt DC, Monday, 12 July 2010 12:05 (thirteen years ago) link
I've never been in it
― Oracle Crackers (Tom D.), Monday, 12 July 2010 12:34 (thirteen years ago) link
oh look, the thread has been bumped! of course, there's no chance of a FAP, oh no. we simply don't do that anymore!
― RIP la petite mort (acoleuthic), Monday, 12 July 2010 12:36 (thirteen years ago) link
We do, you just don't show up. I've been at the last two: 2 people at the first; 4 at the second.
― Oracle Crackers (Tom D.), Monday, 12 July 2010 12:38 (thirteen years ago) link
... you did have a good excuse for the 1st one tho
― Oracle Crackers (Tom D.), Monday, 12 July 2010 12:42 (thirteen years ago) link
The '4 at the second' was the ILB fap wasn't it? It doesn't have many Londoners on it (although it wasn't restricted to ILB-ers).
― xyzzzz__, Monday, 12 July 2010 12:46 (thirteen years ago) link
Yeah, that wasn't really an ILX FAP, but it was mentioned on here
― Oracle Crackers (Tom D.), Monday, 12 July 2010 12:47 (thirteen years ago) link
I think I was doing something for that one as well, but I will do my best to make an official London FAP that a few people promise to come to!
― RIP la petite mort (acoleuthic), Monday, 12 July 2010 12:48 (thirteen years ago) link
Hey there were 5 ppl at the ilb fap. Or 4.5 given that stevie came late. Call it 4.6 with pinefox nearly showing up.
Never been in Glasshouse Stores oddly, but not a real fan of Soho drinking I suppose. (southwark 4 eva).
― tetrahedron of space (woof), Monday, 12 July 2010 13:39 (thirteen years ago) link
I am in the GHS fairly regularly cos I work round the corner (although I am more often found in the Glassblower because it's nearer my office).
― a fucking stove just fell on my foot. (Colonel Poo), Monday, 12 July 2010 13:51 (thirteen years ago) link
Ugh, the Glassblower. I used to work round there and spent far more time in that pub that I would have liked.
― Matt DC, Monday, 12 July 2010 13:52 (thirteen years ago) link
It beats the hell out of the Warwick (which is unfortunately where most of my co-workers prefer to go)
― a fucking stove just fell on my foot. (Colonel Poo), Monday, 12 July 2010 13:56 (thirteen years ago) link
Yeah the Warwick is horrific. As are most of the pubs just off Regent Street really.
― Matt DC, Monday, 12 July 2010 14:01 (thirteen years ago) link
I'd like to have another London FAP at some point and meet you all again in person. The last one was great fun but it was coming up to almost a year ago. I'm not that familiar with drinking establishments in the area though.
Anyone interested?
