Well...opening the Lupe show went fantastic! was crazy to be up in front of 3,000 ppl
we went over pretty well, considering how jacked the kids were for lupe.
didn't meet him, he was on his bus before the show
afterwards, loading out i saw in his tour bus window and they were watching "Martin" reruns on a flat screen

yeah i think it was one of the songs missed on the first leak, pretty terrible even compared to like Rebirth

I just listened to 'Over' like eight or nine times for the jukebox; I fucking hate Drake so much right now.

Heard a newish song with Jaime Foxx, J.T and T.I today. Was super excited until Jaime Foxx started doing whatever he does, lost interest and then got super excited as soon as the T.I part happened. I wouldn't have even known J.T had anything to do with it if it weren't for the high pitched sounds in the back ground.

Yeah, Kurupt is pretty good on it (not BlaQKout great, but good) but Terrence Martin's beats are all these faux West Coast bangers that aren't that memorable. It's good to see "Yessir" finally get a home, but I had that song like 2 years ago?

I like "Over," even though I probably shouldn't. I actually wrote it up, too!
― rennavate, Wednesday, 21 April 2010 22:01 (fourteen years ago) link
i was gonna write it up but i would just be re-hashing stuff i wrote on the shrimp
― artie flange (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 21 April 2010 22:08 (fourteen years ago) link
Yeah. I haven't written much on Drake so I figured why not. And I wanted to represent the side that actually liked the track, in spite of his rapping. I've realized I much prefer Drake as an R&B artist as opposed to rapper's rapper. But for some reason I still like of enjoy his shitty lines on "Over"? I dunno.
― rennavate, Wednesday, 21 April 2010 22:12 (fourteen years ago) link
i feel like there are a lot of people who think "i dunno, i enjoy the shitty lines in young money songs" and i don't really understand that POV -- like, "bed rock" is funny and listenable on some "miracles" shit, but i think anyone who listens to anymore ICP (or young money!) outside of that is kind of a retard
― artie flange (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 21 April 2010 22:17 (fourteen years ago) link
not accusing you of anything, mind you
― artie flange (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 21 April 2010 22:19 (fourteen years ago) link
For sure, and I see your point. But as much as I kind of enjoy Drake's shitty lines, I don't enjoy Mack Maine or Tyga's shitty lines. I know it's kind of a weak argument, but Drake (for me) somehow manages to sell a lot of his clunkers whereas his Young Money cohorts don't (same with Minaj, she can sell lines like "flow tighter than a dick in the butt").
― rennavate, Wednesday, 21 April 2010 22:27 (fourteen years ago) link
that's the same article ryan dombal made on pitchfork but it just make drake a sadder example because tyga and mack maine are transparently terrible rappers
― artie flange (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 21 April 2010 22:29 (fourteen years ago) link
same argument*
It's true. Double standard? Sure.
― rennavate, Wednesday, 21 April 2010 22:33 (fourteen years ago) link
i honestly think that new ICP song is way better than bed rock
― m@tt (M@tt He1ges0n), Wednesday, 21 April 2010 22:40 (fourteen years ago) link
that seagull part is about 10x better than anything i've heard wayne spit in like 3 years
"flow tighter than a dick in a butt" is a great line
reeeeally not sold on drake as an r&b singer any more than drake as a rapper (but i didn't blurb it. what more is there to say...insipid singer is insipid. again.)
