"And the Bridge... it sigh" - it's all about Song For Europe.

Stevie T, Tuesday, 10 June 2008 15:48 (fifteen years ago) link

I'm sacking my typist.

Stevie T, Tuesday, 10 June 2008 15:48 (fifteen years ago) link

it's a tie between "amazona", "psalm" and "mother of pearl". "mother of pearl" wins on lyrics, the vocal on "psalm" is just utterly ridiculous - it's songs like this that make ferry so fascinating to me, there's a real masculinity to the way he sings that's thuggish and real, he sounds both broken and invincible - but then "amazona" has that really cool out of phase bit that sounds like the record is warped. "amazona" it is!

Alfred, Lord Sotosyn, Tuesday, 10 June 2008 18:39 (fifteen years ago) link

This album is all about Manzanera for me, so I'm going with Amazona.

allen Baekeland, Tuesday, 10 June 2008 22:34 (fifteen years ago) link

I gave it to "Just Like You"

Mother of Pearl, but the live performance of Psalm on the DVD almost pushed it to 1

iago g., Wednesday, 18 June 2008 02:28 (fifteen years ago) link

"A Song For Europe".

"Amazona" had a great riff though (And I believe Ice-T thought so too)

Geir Hongro, Wednesday, 18 June 2008 10:45 (fifteen years ago) link

I think this was the second album I ever bought (aged 11). It still has to be "Street Life", though - my favourite Roxy track, and one of my favourite singles ever ever ever.
