The "Nashville with a tan", I believe, is the writer stating how he sees people in Nashville and California (where the song is set, Fairfax and Hollywood are both in California) are both the kind of people with a plan. California is known for alot of tan "surfer dudes". Therefore, this place in California is like Nashville, except they are all tan.

when ever i was little and i was like crying or upset my mom sung this song to me...but idk i just love it really does make me think everything is going to be alright =D

My dad really liked this and my mom made fun of him for it, she did great voice-cracking impressions of the "eveRYYYYthing."

Closer to Mr. Mullins's time, "Screenwriter's Blues" and "Drinking in LA" are both pretty good, certainly better than "Lullaby."

The plot thickens.
