Oh that was the other thing I was going to say was that the one time I saw them live, there the loudest band I ever saw aside from Swans on the Children of God tour.

Well, I suppose so. I'm afraid the gig doesn't stick out in my mind a whole lot, but I remember enjoying it well enough.

If you "started" with "Isn't", and went backwards, album/single stepping, how far back until you'd say "this isn't them is it?"

At the time, I definitely went with "good", but in hindsight "bad" would be the better description.

I hadn't been so physically assaulted by music since seeing the Beasts of Bourbon at Metropolis in Fremantle - when it was still called 'Cargoes'! The old timber floor of the band room proved highly conductive to Brian Hooper's bass in particular, with Kim Salmon and Spencer Jones' guitars not far behind.

I honestly thought my sternum was going to explode.

I'm pretty sure they will not only do Coachella, but also other festivals in Europe next summer.

Ha ha, they'll probably end up doing a "secret gig" at Sonic Cathedral. *Then* I could die happy.

I once saw a Crosby, Stills & Nash show where the power went out and they had to do the whole thing unplugged...would love for this to happen to MBV...

i can't help myself but their concept of the word "soon" reminds me a little of christian eschatology. in the meantime (before judgement day) i think i will listen to their cover of "we have all the time in the world" again. a perfect swan song if there ever was one.

I bought this album because I am so into Sigur Ros at the moment and it seems all the reviews I read say that "...if you like Sigur Ros you will like MBV.." Let me say this album is no where near a Sigur Ros experience.
