Yeah, it and "Saturday" were among the first tunes that forced my tender 14 yr old brain to acknowledge the value of repetition + repetition + repetition.

needs a proper eurohouse remix tbh

(but yeah, the 3 Rs...it's taken me AGES to catch up but songs like this certainly help. along with the fall. and krautrock. and the boredoms.)

Went for Saturday without thinking twice, just plain gorgeous.

Def. still "Cow". "Saturday" might have clinched it if it was longer. "Tears On Fresh Fruit", "The Most Beautiful Widow In Town" and "Heart of Darkness" would have been my alts I think.
Need to listen to Good Morning Spider as, though I remember preferring that album, I have no sense of what in particular I loved most on it.

'Someday' is classic.

cow ftw. i just moved out of a place that had a bird in the garden that sounded like that running, unspooled mechanical swirl at the end of the song, it made me think of it all the time. pretty girl/milking a cow/oh yeah

I've always meant to explore his stuff more deeply, but I'd feel like kind of a dick to start now.

one of the first things that stuck out to me during the period when this cd was constantly in my car was that i'd always skip the odd tracks for the even tracks. i think i just prefer the rawkier stuff to the gentler stuff.

Surprising results for me. Thought 'Spirit Ditch' and 'Sad and Beautiful World' wouldv'e ranked higher.

love how "rainmaker" references "spirit ditch"

Rainmaker & Hammering the Cramps are my favorites, but the whole thing flows very nicely. Good solid recording.

Was just thinking this needed to be polled and here it is. The answer is Cow, but Rainmaker getting 1 vote is plain wrong so maybe that.

Agreed on "Cow". Something irked Mark when he/they played in Seattle on the GMS tour and they skipped the "Cow" encore which was on the setlist I snagged. Sad face!

It had one via Plain but consensus is that label is bad at sound quality and that version is now also out of print anyway...
