oliver and cenac

when i was working for my college radio station we brough cenac on to do some stand up at a festival we threw--this was in like 05, well before he was on the daily show, and he killed, plus was really patient & nice with all the college kid fuckups. i think my station mgr is still in touch with him. assuming that wasnt the only day in his life when he acted like a nice dude, success couldnt come to a better guy.

Went for Wilmore. Could easily have chosen Cenac, Hodgman, or Jones.
Weird watching "King of the Hill" and hearing Cenac's voice as various characters. "Alakazam, Alprazolam!"

Gotta go with Wilmore for this:
Stewart: Is it ever ok for white people to wear blackface?Wilmore: No. (gets up to leave)Stewart: Waitwaitwait, I though you might have a longer answer.Wilmore: You want a long answer? OK. Nnnnnnnnnnnnooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

I voted for Oliver, because he's damn hilarious every single time, but I could have voted for Larry Wilmore just as easily. Mandvi, Cenac, Bee and Jones tie for 3rd. <3 them all.

Man I miss those Wilmore/Oliver bits.

Hodgman has his moments but ugh why would anyone vote for him

I've only seen Kristen on there three times, none of them in 2010. Is she still a contributor even?

Hodgman is popular on this here local internets, what with his blogs and McSweeney's and computer shilling.

not to get all morbs on this shit, but man, I find like 2 of these people funny.
I miss the days of colbert, unger, hell even A. Whitney Brown. Steve Carell's Produce Pete character was funnier than the sum total of Aasif Mandvi's appearances on the show.
― Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 16 March 2010 08:00 (fourteen years ago) link
Colbert has his own show now, and it's great.Unger was never funny, and still isn't funny on the occasional commercial or tv show role.A. Whitney Brown peaked on SNL.I loved Carell on TDS, but I don't really miss him now because John Oliver really fills the vacuum he left.

This should have been a lock for either Samantha Bee or Jason Jones. Wyatt Cenac is alright.

Hodgman isn't that great but I did laugh at one bit:
Stewart: But what you're talking about is Alchemy.
Hodgamn- No, John. I'm talking about turning lead into gold by using science.

^^ Hodgman is only occasionally funny and I'm always kinda disappointed when he's on.

I did improv with Klepper in college (when his main interest seemed to be the Wu-Tang Clan), so I've been kind of fascinated by the path his comedy career has taken him.
KASICH & KLEPPER launches on 1/27/22! This isn't a podcast about politics - it's about life and some of the most interesting people out there. Tune in Thursdays each week for a new episode wherever you get your podcasts! @JordanKlepper @TreefortMedia pic.twitter.com/EMgkFZ6oeJ— John Kasich (@JohnKasich) January 19, 2022
