Yes, you met the *minimum* requirement. That tells us that you will put minimal effort into giving back to the Oink Community. Remember, we're not seeking out the very good in indie -- we're looking for the very best.

1.) Not so sure about the question. I have uploaded some albums into a request section of a forum using file hosting services such as rapidshare and megaupload, if that is what you are asking about. Other wise, i downloaded an MC Juice discography recently and I am currently seeding that to about a 5.0 ratio... It's about 400 megs, so its no big deal. Is that the answer you were looking for?
2.) Rockism is the somewhat against modern-age rock, which I believe started around the 70's and 80's. One ideology is that technology tends to ruin the essence of music, and therefore electric guitars and synthesizers, etc. were frowned upon. Rockism states that the artist should be the sole creator of the music and these synthesizers and such detract from the essence of man-made music. Rockism also seems to state that rock is "supreme" genre or the center of music. During the 80's rockism was also seen by many as "anti-pop" music. A connection I can make is to hip hop as well. Rockism believed that "real" music was dying, similarly, many artists claim that "hip hop is dead" meaning that many rappers sold themselves out for money or fame.

4.) I have to give it to Sufjan. I had hear Marzuki live the one time I went to Michigan and couldn't stop listening after that. I feel that he is one of the few talented music artists left as someone had stated before, he produced and recorded most of his songs. I just wish that he did actually go ahead and write an ode to each of the 50 states. That would have been very interesting. About Deerhoof, the first thing I heard about this group was that none of the members had any formal singing training, which I thought was incredible. I still felt that after Halfbird, their music quality sorta went downward, but Sufjan still gets my vote because of what he has achieved alone, as compared to with a group. Sufjan is only going to get bigger but hopefully not too big to the point where he becomes mainstream. Gotta get his box set too sometime.
5.) Just one, please.

1) The Doctor's Advocate (The Game), Ch. 1 The Rise (Ya Boy), Eminem Presents the RE-UP2) Basically, rockism is the basis of how music evolved to what it is today. It started out with people doing it for the fun of it. This was the case for a while, until big bands became 'big bands.' This created a new kind of music with new flow. Everyone is now trying to "get big" with music, when they need to look back to the roots. Yes, this has created new great music. For the most part, people need to 'feel' their music more than want money for it. It's nice to make money from doing something you love, but the money starts to take over. Now, people will always get money and prize for their music, but we still have to remember the one's that don't.

One of my favorite songs of all time is Chicago. He just recently came out with a new Christmas album, and it's pretty good. He is known for his lyrically focused and instrumentally rich songs that often relate to faith and family. Stevens has enjoyed wide critical success in the United States. His music is different then most stuff coming out mainstream right now, and I like that a lot. I've been listening to him since he first started back in 99, and I still do. 4) Just one

What is rockism? Rockism is the idea of using synths in pro tools. This idea is all about the composer or producer of the album. They use this technique in pop music alot, and its also a way that people can express them selves. This rockism is a great help to crappy bands to make there sucky music sound better. Anyway basically this idea improves the cd by adding fake sounds, which makes the music more rockin'. Whenever I record music in my studio, i have to confess that I too use this technique or method, but its the future people!

2)Rockism is an ideology of popular music criticism, originating in the British music press in the late 1970s or early 1980s.[citation needed] The fundamental tenet of rockism is that some forms of popular music, and some musical artists, are more authentic than others. More specifically, authentic popular music fits the rock and roll paradigm; it is made using the basic rock instrumentation of guitars, bass guitars and drums, and fits the structures of a rock and roll song.Rockism is suspicious of the use of technology, from synthesizers to Pro Tools-style computer-based production systems. Rockism places value on the idea of the composer and performer as auteur; authentic music is composed as a sincere form of self-expression, and usually performed by those who composed it.

2)rockism means idolizing the authentic old legend (or underground hero) while mocking the latest pop star.lionizing punk while barely tolerating disco.loving the live show and hating the music video. extolling the growling performer while hating the lip-syncher.its supicous of the use of technicological electronicly composed music be it using protools, reason,fl studio ya know what ever the case may be. its about the authenication of the music.its about staying true to the genre's musical roots. in my opinion thats what rockism is.

4)sufjan stevens is AMAZING! he plays something like twenty-six instruments. writes intelligent lyrics. and has a beautiful passionate somewhat bitter-sweet voice. sufjan stevens is the sort of musician you have to admit is good even if you don't like his music. I like his music immensely. his music is for when you have time to sit and listen i mean really sit there listen deeply. its very musically complex and i think thats one of the things i like so much about it. i always notice something extra each time i listen to one of his songs that i didnt notice before.

1)Swan Lake-Beast Moans, TV on the Radio-Desperate Youth, Califone-Roots and Crowns.
2)Rockism is a blood-covered prom-date with fire in its heart. Rockism won't quit until it has vacuumed and sponged every ounce of raw, unadulterated talent left in the world and pissed it back out as mindless, shrink-wrapped tripe. Rockism answers to no one and makes no apologies. Take Rockism out for a nice chicken dinner, tell Rockism that it looks great in those pleather chaps, write Rockism a poem, Rockism will never call you back. Rockism will never let you win at your favorite boardgame. Make no mistake about it, Rockism is a formidable opponent. Find the chink in Rockism's armor. Flip Rockism over to expose Rockism's soft underbelly. Rockism-this is gonna hurt you more than it's gonna hurt me.

4)Sufjan is a down pillow. Deerhoof is lumpy. On those long country drives you need Sufjan behind the wheel. Deerhoof has to piss every 15 miles. Sufjan's eloquent musings embrace like an old sweater on a brisk morning. Deerhoof needs more cowbell. Sufjan has something in his eye. It's Deerhoof.

1) Simple Plan ; LegiĆ£o Urbana ( brazilian awesome band ;D ) ; My Chemical Romance
2) Rockism is suspicious of the use of technology, from synthesizers to Pro Tools-style computer-based production systems. Rockism places value on the idea of the composer and performer as auteur; authentic music is composed as a sincere form of self-expression, and usually performed by those who composed it. This is as opposed to the notion of manufactured "pop" music, created in assembly line fashion by teams of hired record producers and technicians and performed by pop stars who have little input into the creative process, designed to appeal to a mass market and make profits rather than express authentic sentiments.
Rockism is a primitivist ideology; a subtext of rockism is that, at one time in history, they "got music right", and that all subsequent innovations have compromised this purity. (This golden age is often placed sometime during the 1960s or 1970s.) Critics of rockism assert that this vaunted "golden age" of pure, authentic music is a myth, and that popular music never was entirely free of the interference of commercialism, marketing and commodification or : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rockism3) http://themodernage.magicrpm.com/images/mn/1129721872.jpg & http://www.prosoundweb.com/fun/Photofun/36_cat_balls.jpg (j/k) ;D
