ok, so it's not actually part of the mix but does anyone have any idea what the track at the beginning is? (the presenter is talking over it).

great tune - i think i recognise it cos it's on an old recloose mix cd i have.

two months pass...

so ... mind fusion 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 ... which is best?

picked up mindfusion 2 last week actually. and it's good. almost entirely a jazz funk vibe (elvin jones, pharoah s, george duke etc.). he doesn't let tracks play out for long so it's best just to soak up the general vibe. crazy assed artwork too. haven't heard 3, 4 or 5 however. 1 is also good for its hip-hop selection but presumably you've heard that.

ah, shawn phillips makes a lot of sense now. that record was sampled by shadow and has a few breaks.

relevant

Yeah what the hell happened to that DJ Shadow record with like...something about the concept of time in the samples. Come on. Circa 2000 or whatever. You know the song I mean. Arrrrgh. Everyone loved it. What was it called? Argggh.

I think it's called "Six Days", that's it. From 2002, though.

i got "mind fusion 3". it's pretty good, not quite as heavy on spacey fusion as review make one believe. it's basically a 50/25/25 mix of murky roots reggae, tropicalia and "blue break beats"

i'll probably start picking up the rest.

Listening to Mind Fusion Vol 1 again now and it's the biz. I really need to get my hands on 3, 4 and 5.

Good question. I picked up mine in a 2nd hand store in Tokyo. Or Slsk?
