I haven't typed /played on my main in years. Way too scared.

what game have you played the most?

the last time I did this it was approaching 90 days

also lol dk is now lvl 80 and I've got a shammie up to 52

Mine must be around there. It was 19 days back in the day, & with two 80s + various random alts... Def enough time to become proficient in a language or write a respectably received novel or get ripped w/o killing myself in the gym or starving.

But kicking it till Cataclysm now. Cancelled the account yesterday, so cannot and will not check my /played.

I relapsed, partially out of boredom and bad weather, and partially to play on a server where a bunch of people in my family have been playing. I transferred my crappy resto druid over there and am healing for the first time ever. I've only been playing a few hours a week, and I can't say my opinion of the game has improved, but it's better than chatting on IM.

i feel the temptation now and again, especially when I "finish" another game. the way wow marries you to a single server and a set group of players is a huge part of the addiction. i wish games on xbl did the same thing.

I now have a priest, warrior, death knight, shaman and hunter at the level cap

I plan to get them all to level cap in Cataclysm too

what has become of my life

i haven't played in awhile, but i had a pally at level cap, a rogue at a few levels below and a druid at 60. I still feel shame about the number of hours required to get all of them to those points.

at least the mage is still languishing at 22 and I don't have any 80s on another server

Are they ever going to make a new game or just keep adding stuff to this one? The graphics are kind of old-looking.

2 80s, and a pally slowly drifting that way. Under control right now: not playing much, mostly dailies and AH to get a little pile of gold for Cata expenses. Oh, and the event has been sort of fun so far.

I'm ok with the graphics, am in that large-ish swathe of audience thinking 'plz plz plz plz don't make it too pretty, want it to run on my laptop'.

Want to roll a Worgen, but I am for the horde.

I think blizzard is working on an entirely new mmo which will probably take most of the people off of wow. theyll still support it but probably never replace

Not every time any more. Only when I imagine myself trying to explain it to others. Or when it makes me late for something (press lunch with gf at v nice restaurant two days ago. I mean yes, whoops, but those rifts in Thunder Bluff needed closing).

wld be into an ilxor casual guild, but the great atlantic divide would scupper me - I'm on the eu servers.

well, I've been in raiding guilds with ppl in Australia so I don't know if that's an actual barrier

I think maybe I'd need a US account (and hence fresh US copies of the games to associate with it) to play on the US servers. I went through a bit of this with an American friend a couple of years ago, but I'm not 100% I'm remembering correctly.

oh dude, not to lure you in or anything but shadow DPS is pretty great right now

(granted this is from the perspective of someone who's mainly a healer with scrubby DPS alts who had enough currency to totally gear out his main's offspec, so maybe in conjunction with other DPS it isn't that great, but it's sort of amazing to kill non-elite 80 mobs in 1.5 seconds)

good luck. thought about taking the plunge back into WoW again myself but it's a scary place to live when you're eating/breathing/drinking WoW 24/7.

well let me say this:

at level 80, you get a seahorse mount for underwater travel

sort of unhappy about having to go underwater in the first place. Like no matter how many breathing and movement buffs and mounts you give me, I still think 'god underwater level whenwillitend whenwillitend'.

So yeah, I've headed for Hyjal instead - between that and rolling a Worgen there go my winter evenings.

There is an entire quest line that is a parody of Jaws, though, down to the quest names; it's kind of great.

I got my priest to 82 and a worgen druid up to 13 yesterday; one of my friends described the goblin starting zone as "I didn't know if I was playing WoW or GTA" but I don't know how hyperbolic that statement was.

Spent a couple of hours getting my main Rogue started on the trip to 85, & getting a new Worgen Rogue up and running. Cockney fishwife Worgen voices are a1, posh Worgen ok too; wolf form looks good, but not sure about the human models, fiddled with them for a while, kept ending up with variations on an Oliver Reed.

I intentionally didn't try to make my worgen's human form look like me (for a change!) and ended up with a pretty bad-ass wolfman form, so I'm pleased about that. Their whole story line was a lot of fun to play (lol at Grandma Wahl, one of the best NPCs to pop up in a while) and yes, the Cockney fishwives are A+.

i've kinda heard that suggested (it's "endgame" right?), but never really bought it

^^^ I never believed this until I started actually seriously doing endgame dungeons

Even now, it's less "game doesn't start" and more "game becomes subtly different"

Well, idk about 85 since I haven't played Cataclysm, but it was certainly true for me for levels 70 (Kara was really a game unto itself) and 80 (heroic dungeons and Naxx)

I re-activated last night after not having played for a fairly long time. I have no idea how to play this anymore, which I am pretty excited about.

Things def change at max level. I enjoy levelling more than endgame tbh; I usually turn to the large scale PVP (Wintergrasp, AV), since I don't like hanging out in dungeons with random ppl (I'm unguilded; the one time I was in a guild, that's when the habit got really bad - scheduling my life so I could be in on a Friday to run instances, rather than just playing a bit when I happened to be in).

(it's like the crack-habit-management gets a lot harder when you're letting down other people by not smoking all the crack you said you would)

is it even possible to solo up to the endgame?

(i know there's hella resources out there for WoW, i'm trying to avoid them, i don't want to turn into....well, you guys ;)

Yeah, unless you have friends to level up with you (and who promise only to play at the exact times that you're playing) you're going to pretty much be solo leveling up to the endgame
