They're the best. I eat them until my mouth hurts.

john . . . are you on here? I just sent you my first sound art piece to listen to!

also, my husband's favorite jelly beans are the starburst ones. he will eat an entire bag in one sitting & so I'm no longer allowed to buy them for him - per his request.
― sweet tater, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:13 (sixteen years ago) link
Yeah, jelly bellies require too much work for me because you have to pick out the best ones. I want a candy I can go to town with.
xp ROAD TRIP @ VEGAS!!!! I wouldn't wanna go to Vegas again (well, not without the boss's money anyway, ha), but EZ's descriptions of the surrounding areas sounded wonderful.
― KitCat, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:13 (sixteen years ago) link
also, my husband's... :-D
Hi. I will go check my e-mail!
― jaymc, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:14 (sixteen years ago) link
Yeah, isn't it still kinda weird to say that?
― sweet tater, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:16 (sixteen years ago) link
I like jelly beans ok but my faves are Sugar Babies, which are kind of like jelly beans. They are the same size and shape.
― n/a, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:16 (sixteen years ago) link
I feel like sugar babies get their own category.
Jelly Beans are too sticky-in-the-teethy for me.
― kenan, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:17 (sixteen years ago) link
Sugar babies are TOO SWEET for lil ol' me.
I am reading this book at my desk: http://ec1.images-amazon.com/images/I/519QNR6WNZL._BO2,204,203,200_PIsitb-dp-500-arrow,TopRight,45,-64_OU01_AA240_SH20_.jpg

It is extremely easy to read and entertaining. I enjoyed her other book too. It's just funny though, because she's this woman in her 60's who keeps slipping into rants about Kids These Days...

I was just talking the other night about how some married guys I know say "the wife" (as in "I gotta go check up on the wife") and it strikes me as self-conscious and goofy and playful, but then other people say it and while I can tell there was originally an ironic intent, it seems to have been lost over time and they just sound like depressed middle-aged men.
― jaymc, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:24 (sixteen years ago) link
I will NEVER say "Hubby"
― sweet tater, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:25 (sixteen years ago) link
"Hubby Leaf and I went to Jo-Ann Fabrics after work."
― jaymc, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:25 (sixteen years ago) link
What about "the old ball and chain"?
― n/a, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:25 (sixteen years ago) link
(Note: Sarah wants to go to Jo-Ann Fabrics)
― n/a, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:26 (sixteen years ago) link
I go there too frequently it seems.
― sweet tater, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:26 (sixteen years ago) link
I was making a Jean Teasdale joke.
― jaymc, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:26 (sixteen years ago) link
ha! i never even saw your comment until now!

Has anyone noticed the posters for the upcoming movie, Why Did I Get Married? I'm sensing a theme (see also: (I Think) I love my Wife).
― KitCat, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:28 (sixteen years ago) link
Nick, how do you refer to me when talking to, say, folks at work? Just by name?
― KitCat, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:29 (sixteen years ago) link
"that bitch I married"
― sweet tater, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:30 (sixteen years ago) link
I kid, of course.
I'm a bitch, I'm a mother, I'm a child, I'm a lover, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint...!
― KitCat, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:33 (sixteen years ago) link
Usually I just say your name, if it's someone I don't know as well I might say "my wife" but it is weird.
― n/a, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:34 (sixteen years ago) link
There should be a hipper term for "wife."
― n/a, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:35 (sixteen years ago) link
I realized that in class last week I kept referring to Leaf as "my husband" and after maybe the third time doing that, I just blurted out, "His name is Leaf & I will call him Leaf hence forth!"
― sweet tater, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:36 (sixteen years ago) link
ha ha
N- Wifey?
― KitCat, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:36 (sixteen years ago) link
Try saying that with a straight face though.
― KitCat, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:37 (sixteen years ago) link
"wifey mcdingus"
(some friends of mine use this term to refer to long-term girlfriends, usually)
― Jordan, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:38 (sixteen years ago) link
Wife sounds fine to me, even if it's kinda heavy; it implies a lot, but so did you by marrying her.

wife4life

Call her "the Love I am betrothed to."
― kenan, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:39 (sixteen years ago) link
Or, "My Soul, My Life."
― kenan, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:40 (sixteen years ago) link
or call her sarah.
"my old lady"
― jaymc, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:40 (sixteen years ago) link
You know what really wouldn't be cheesy and annoying? If married people called each other their SOUL-MATE all the time. That would be great!
― dan m, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:41 (sixteen years ago) link
How about just "mate"
― Jordan, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:42 (sixteen years ago) link
ol' girl
In private Leaf & I call each other "lover" or "my sweet lover" or something equally gag-worthy.
― sweet tater, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:42 (sixteen years ago) link
I just discovered that the college improv group I was in has a video on YouTube, featuring current members. I feel like Jon Lovitz to their Andy Samberg.
― jaymc, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:43 (sixteen years ago) link
sometimes i feel like Buster saying that, though. I know he said, "Hey Brother!" but you can see how easy it would be to substitute "Hey Lover!"
― sweet tater, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:43 (sixteen years ago) link
ha!
― kenan, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:44 (sixteen years ago) link
Mate sounds like a sailor... which sounds sexy.
― KitCat, Wednesday, 19 September 2007 15:45 (sixteen years ago) link
I'll just say, Hey, Sailor.
What I mean by discovering forgotten corners of my iTunes library: I am listening to this for the first time this morning. It is remarkable.

Sylvia . . Yes Mickey . . How do you call your lover boy . . Come here Lover Boy . . . and if he doesn't answer . . Oh lover Boy . .and if he still doesn't answer . . I simply say . . Baby, Oh Baby, my sweet baby, your the one Baby, Oh Baby, my sweet baby, your the one
