BTW on "Bite Force 2" last week (which I was able to see only cause we were on vacation), it was shown that the humble Nurse Shark generates a bite force almost equal to the Great White. (Great White = 600something lbs, Nurse = 500something.) This is cuz the GW relies on the slicing action of its teeth to dice up its prey, whereas the Nurse is crushing shellfish with its platelike jaw.
Also, pound-for-pound, Tasmanian Devil did not do too badly either.

HARN Museum in Gainesville has a 1/1 mockup of the jaws of the prehistoric sharks that lived in the (wider, deeper) prehistoric Florida rivers. Srsly it's as big as the one behind that hockey guy.
