Cassie: The new Ciara?

This is such a fake. I think they are still calling the album "Electro Love", plus that Neptunes song "High" is suppose to be included on it. I would be upset if it was left out. I've been patiently waiting to hear that song forever.

Even if that song just leaked I wouldn't care about the album coming to fruition.

it'll quite amusing to see just how many unreleased albums cassie can rack up

the other side is at least the best title so far! no wonder it's just something some fan made up. "fuck u silly" needs to be on it though.

Should I just give in and listen to The Other Side? None of the tracks on it are going to be getting an official release any time soon are they?

Chris, Saturday, 6 February 2010 18:14 (fourteen years ago) link

one month passes...

Despite already having the leaks, I decided to listen to "The Other Side" to see if it worked as an "album", and surprisingly it does (even without my beloved High/Hide snippet). The only new thing with Cassie is that Diddy supposedly forced her to delete her twitter. She was revealing too much about their "relationship."

I say quit fucking and get with releasing the damn album already, or just release this and call it a day.

Given the Siik remix of Me & U a listen and I love it. Any other remixes worth checking out?

Chris, Sunday, 9 May 2010 01:45 (thirteen years ago) link

the Machinedrum remix as well as the Beat$treet$ mix are v. cool

Blancminaj (Spinspin Sugah), Sunday, 9 May 2010 05:00 (thirteen years ago) link

i just read the beginning of this thread, when everyone was first discovering "me and u"

kinda funny how quick everyone was on the uptake - i felt the exact same way when i first heard it. it was chilling.

la senora (surm), Sunday, 9 May 2010 06:19 (thirteen years ago) link

Thanks, Blancminaj. Tracked down the Machinedrum remix but can't find the Beat$treet$ mix. Any chance you could post a link or upload, please?

Chris, Monday, 10 May 2010 00:49 (thirteen years ago) link

here you go

Thanks for those remixes!

Any news on a new album? Or of one of the leaked albums getting an official release? Or a 4th album? I love this girl.

Chris, Wednesday, 19 May 2010 12:22 (thirteen years ago) link

Apparently after the Last Train to Paris album drops they will supposedly concentrate on Cassie.

i wish the chorus of "keep on lovin me" wasn't so dumb

― sans crit (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, April 21, 2009 10:05 AM (1 year ago) Bookmark

again coming late to something that's already been talked to death, but i've been slowly unwrapping that collection of terius demos someone linked the other day, and tonight listening to "keep on lovin me" over and over and over again. just wonderful, and i want to know more abt cassie, but at this point i just love this song to death. have played it abt 20 times in a row, for the moment can't imagine anything better. chorus is dumb in the best possible way.

two weeks pass...

At OSHEAGA (big MTL music festival) yesterday, I stopped by the electronic stage for an hour or two because Mary Ann Hobbs was spinning, and I caught a set afterwards by a friend of a friend who dropped a massively wonderful glitch/dubstep mix of Long Way 2 Go. In the process of figuring out what the fuck it is.

Haha. It would be, given that the aforementioned friend-of-a-friend is Hovatron. Didn't realize it was his own mix. you are lovely.

But the bass was a lot MORE. Serves me right for not buying a new pair of HQ headphones, I suppose.

kindof love cassie in her post-dubstep muse (four tet, kastle, deadboy) makes me think of the relationship b/w northern soul and american disco commercial failures.

wonder if Cassie is aware of this stuff, I'd love for her to work with some of these people for Electro-Love... really feeling this Deadboy take on "Long Way 2 Go"

Brackles, Jacques Greene, Lunice and more have all contributed to a free mini-album of Cassie remixes titled Skydiver.

i like to think of it as a reciprocatory response to cassie's own "in love with the dj" - do think one of them should've taken that one on

Haha! Didn't realize this at the time, but Jacques Greene is a new alias of Hovatron, who spins in Montreal with a bunch of my friends. Busts out Cassie/RLes/The-Dream with shocking regularity. His solo stuff is A++ good.

It's kind of cruel to bump this thread and get people's hopes up... not really, I've given up. The title stings a little when Ciara just released an album tho. Will check out the tribute thing, I can fantasize about that being the album cover.

The first Cassie leak in almost a year. It is an old song from 2007 produced by Brian Cox and written by some guy called Adonis. It's nice and pleasant:
