This Is The Thread Where I Say.......Part Seven!

Anyway, she just sent an email to my dad and sisters and I claiming that she was told by an angel or something in a dream that my Grandmother would die the day before. She asked said mystical being if she could share this information with my sisters and I and they said no. So, instead she only told my youngest sister that she had had a very amazing, detailed spiritual dream but couldn't tell her what it was about. Now she's saying, Remember when I told you that? It was the dream foretelling of mom's death!

But also, I should add that my mom mentions having extremely detailed spiritual dreams at least once a week.

It would be much easier to ignore except this time it involves my Grandmother.

Sarah - that's cool but freaky. I dig John Edwards too (even though J laughs at me!) but it must be weird to experience it first hand. How do you feel about it?

I once felt certain I had seen my great-Grandmother's ghost when we lived at her old house. And my sister swears she saw our great-Grandfather's ghost. Supposedly, he was very angry and smacked her leg. She screamed and awoke us all. And there on her leg was a huge red handprint. But also, I was 16 at the time and very naive.

My point is that I have an eerie belief in some of that stuff, but I basically wish to forget it ever happened. It freaks me out. None of it was pleasant.

I guess what I'm saying is that I HALF believe in it all, but I'm scared of it. The night of the supposed Grandma/Great-grandfather visits (yes, they were both the same night), I prayed harder than I ever had before in my life that unless it was completely necessary, please god don't let anything like that ever happen again. It didn't.

I am printing out cover letters and resumes for my position. There are twenty-something so far.

Anyway. I hope people's lives have been in the boring-to-wonderful range while I was gone, and I didn't miss anything tragic in the last week and a half.

But yeah, hey.

jel, the Nintendo website was crazy for awhile after they put that bonus disc out! (I was trying to register my copy of Mario/Luigi Superstar.) The GameCube's #1 now that they've dropped the price.

Sarah, I think yr right and this is probably your mom's way of dealing with your grandmother's death. I forgot about the yardstick until I was cleaning out my car yesterday. :) Maybe yr grandmother will visit me in Oak Cliff.

*sigh* Since I got out of the hospital I've been feeling pretty good. No cloud of gloom over my head. Every day I've gotten up excited about whatever's going to happen. Gone about a day's tasks with a smile on my face. But now. . .

I said I was going back to school tomorrow and now I'm filled with dread. I've been anxious and nervous all day. This sucks! I'm really starting to think I need to look for another job. But the market is soo bad now. And for once in a long time, with the help of the 2nd job at the bar, I'm able to pay my bills on time and start thinking of saving up for a new car. If I got a different job it would definitely be a lowering of my standard of living.

The school called a bit ago but I was too scared to answer. They wanted to know whether or not I was returning tomorrow. My pysch gave me a letter releasing me to return on Wed., but I feel I should just get it over with. I've been gone for two weeks now and have no more sick days. Each day away is costing me money. :(

Sam, it'll be okay. Take it from me, stewing about it will just make it worse. Call them and get that load of your back.

It's really too bad his mum couldn't make it, that would have been fun.

I am stuffing myself with biscuits and having mixed feelings about a Christmas bonus I just got. Mixed because, while it's great to get a bonus and I never have had one before, they are STILL fucking about with my new contract (should have been done in AUGUST) so I don't get the full amount but some pro rata fraction because officially I still work PT.

Now I'm going to the cashpoint and then getting a bagel and sitting in the sun reading my Robert B Parker for an hour.

I did absolutely nothing last night. Ok, I wrote ONE Christmas card, but that's about it.

I need my coffee.

I SO want to do this.

The problem is either that (a) I'm a pussy or (b) I care too much about this place to screw them over. But I'm constantly exhausted and depressed because of this stress and I'm bored and there is a better land!

Yeah, I miss you guys too. I haven't updated my blog in quite a while either. I rarely check email. And I even forgot to turn on my phone for about 24 hours so I had all these messages from my family. Whoopsies.

I reak (sp?) of smoke from going to the Canasta show, but it was a lot of fun. I saw jaymc and kenan two weekends in a row! Crazy.

This morning, Nick and I went on a huge adventure in the Gold Coast a.k.a. Fancy Town and also saw the Chicago HIstorical Society Museum or whatever it was called.

My job is fine. The workers are all disgruntled, but also they've been there for a really long time. I just feel like, hey, I put in my time so I get to live in this great city. It's worth it.

Hi Sarah! Glad to hear your job is working out okay.

I felt the same way. Not much of interest in the Halls of Dead Stuffed Things. Even weirder: the botany wing (and it is a wing) was made up of fake plants. I can understand having so much respect for animals that you don't want to cage them, but plants? That's just laziness. A million square feet of museum, and the most interesting there is rocks. Oh, and that car that got hit by a meteorite. To be fair, I hear their scientists are top-notch and do renowned research, but the museum itself was a bore.

The aquarium is better. The planetarium is very cool, if you're in the mood to learn stuff. I haven't been to the Museum of Science and Industry yet, but I hear it's great, and I'm interested for the building alone. It's a stone replica of one of the plaster buildings of the White City, and it's in its original spot. Neo-classical gaudiness at its finest. They say it set architecture back 100 years.

I'd really love to address each and every single one of you and try to evince some kind of regular chattage type thing, but it's been an age and a day since I last kept up with this thread and so it would probably take an age and a day for me to type up that post. Besides, I'm fairly certain none of you would want to go through a post the size of a novella.

I've got Livejournal too -- have I mentioned that before? Yes? Have I pimped it enough on this forum? Maybe? Ok, let me just send it over the edge then.

There's a slight wisp of a movement among Portland bands to get clubs to start shows somewhat closer to advertised times, but the only places where it's been successful... have moved to 4-band nights. Sheesh!
