No. I was hallucinating for almost 6 hours. I've done acid before - I know what it's like. Although I've never done "angel dust" before, as far as I'm aware, but I'm pretty sure it's effects are not that similar to acid.

when I was in high school they told us that if you're a guy smoking pot will make you grow breasts. Kleinfelter's Syndrome, I believe they called it.

I've always wanted to form a band called "Pot Tits."

LSD is a chemical, ergo has a liquid form ergo can be added to absorbant paper such as cigarette papers and rolled and smoked.

I voted for President Bush most importantly because he holds strong moral convictions that do not waver. I believe America is in the middle of a culture war, perpetuated by Hollywood, the media, and (EDIT: pot-smoking) elitists who are tearing down the traditional values that are so important to me and my family. Secondly, I voted for him because he has not turned a blind eye to the problem of Islamic terrorists who are determined to kill us. He is a good man with clarity in his beliefs, and he sets a good example for my children. God Bless President Bush.

nick, if the rolling paper was dipped in lsd then rolled then placed on your lips for a bit then MAYBE youd start trippin. usually there has to be some time for the lsd to be absorbed in your skin. if your weed is dipped in it then you just burn it all away. thank you.

big chaki (chaki), Monday, 15 November 2004 21:41 (nineteen years ago) link

LSD cannot be smoked. Chaki OTM.

oops (Oops), Monday, 15 November 2004 21:51 (nineteen years ago) link

I always thought those stories of buying "laced" pot were bogus.

shookout (shookout), Monday, 15 November 2004 21:56 (nineteen years ago) link

As are the stories of LSD being tainted with strychnine.

oops (Oops), Monday, 15 November 2004 21:59 (nineteen years ago) link

smoking high-grade pot for the first time can bring on some intense reactions some associate with LSD.

cutty (mcutt), Monday, 15 November 2004 22:07 (nineteen years ago) link

heat destroys LSD; it can not be smoked.

i know a dude who smoked dusted weed and proceeded to punch a hole through a plate glass window at my high school. he had some anger problems anyway.

POT MESSES WITH YOUR DNA?? this was discredited in the 50's! you guys sound like a mexican health class text book..geeze.

there was a poster that said as much in my high school health class far away from Mexico and long after the 50s. I tried to tell the teacher about it, but she seemed to agree with the poster not SCIENCE.

no way, dood, the summer of love is coming yer way. secretly all the baby boomers were hoping bush would win so that they could stick it to the man one more time!!!! (from the comfort of padded and heated leather seats this time, but what the hell, they've earned it.)

big chaki (chaki), Monday, 15 November 2004 23:42 (nineteen years ago) link

It is the most classic ever.

Since moving to a country with a less forgiving attitude towards weed, I have missed it profoundly. I'm sure it's been healthy for me to experience a period of my life without it, but having done so, I am unimpressed.

It will be one of the first things I do to inaugurate my return to the US of A, right after downing a large french vanilla iced coffee from Dunkin Donuts. Possibly I will then watch the Daily Show. This is my dream.

how different is smoking hash? i've only smoked it a bit in amsterdam on top of nicotine. you don't see it very much in the states

JaXoN (JasonD), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 00:30 (nineteen years ago) link

my experiences with hash have been largely negative (that isn't to say unpleasant but just... very mildly high, i guess), but i've also heard that the quality of hash varies even more wildly than pot.

Ian John50n (orion), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 00:33 (nineteen years ago) link

I've hung out with a lot of people who smoke the pot, and I have never been around the types described upthread, those who smoke it 24/7 AND talk about it 24/7. I don't doubt they exist, but I think they're a rarer breed than is generally claimed.

oops (Oops), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 00:39 (nineteen years ago) link

i agree

big chaki (chaki), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 00:54 (nineteen years ago) link

Opium is the bomb. God, that stuff is almost addictive it's so good. mmmmmmmmmm, and mind you these are ancient ancient memories making me go mmmmmmmmmm. i know, it's terrible and everything and blah blah, but honey, I'm telling you, if being wrong feels this good, i don't want to be right.

scott seward (scott seward), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 00:55 (nineteen years ago) link

Opium is great, but it makes me too sleepy. I feel like I'm missing out.

Ian John50n (orion), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 01:00 (nineteen years ago) link

Sorry to be an evangelist but the number of people here who've obv tried it like twice and think they can now safely dismiss it based on um well not actually knowing what it's like is a bit annoying. Feel free to never touch the stuff, OBV, but if you do it DO IT, baby.

Andrew Blood Thames (Andrew Thames), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 01:01 (nineteen years ago) link

Where's everyone getting all the opium? Have we traveled back in time to Nineteenth Century China without me noticing?

Wooden (Wooden), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 01:02 (nineteen years ago) link

almost addictive?

teeny (teeny), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 01:03 (nineteen years ago) link

I used to get it from people who had been to dead shows in the 80's, Woodeen.

I was just kidding about the almost addictive thing, teeny.

scott seward (scott seward), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 01:04 (nineteen years ago) link

er, wooden. (woodeen is the 19th century spelling)

scott seward (scott seward), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 01:05 (nineteen years ago) link

I went on a 2 week opium trip in high school and.. ya.. almost addictive is quite the understatement! I am glad that when I ran out I wasn't able to secure more. It also managed to make me even lazier than pot.

And if I wasn't smoking lsd that night what the hell fucked us up so bad? It couldn't have been just the weed as it'd been chronic for a few years at that point.

Thermo Thinwall (Thermo Thinwall), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 01:34 (nineteen years ago) link

Dude, I don't care either way (pot is not for me, I've never noticed it do anything to me and I hate the taste), but the arguments that start this thread are bullshit!

The only drug that: 1) even if you're an addict, you don't mind sharing

You aren't hanging out with good people if this is the case; I've never been in a situation in which people DID mind sharing any type of substance with their friends!

and 2) won't kill you.

Maybe if you eat it all the time, but certainly not if you partake of it in the traditional methods of, like, smoking. It's safer than regular cigarettes since regular cigarettes from the store are basically nothing but a collection of tar and various other things found in the composition of your average pavement, but you're still inhaling carbon monoxide!

The point: every one worth a grain of salt shares with their mates, and everything worth doing in the world ever will eventually kill you. This is kind of a yin/yang upper/downer post, brought to you by Ally.

Allyzay Science Explosion (allyzay), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 01:38 (nineteen years ago) link

I think by "kill you" he meant by overdose.

Thermo Thinwall (Thermo Thinwall), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 01:45 (nineteen years ago) link

No one has ever died from marijuana. Like, in the history of the whole world. There is no evidence that prolonged, extensive use leads to cancer. Esp since you'd have to smoke like 60 joints a day to equal an average cig smoker's daily intake of carbon monoxide.

oops (Oops), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 01:45 (nineteen years ago) link

Maybe if you eat it all the time

I have been laughing over this phrase for a minute now. I think it's the perfect emphasis Ally makes.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 01:46 (nineteen years ago) link

In any case, the fact that marijuana is illegal is the main factor in why smoking is the most popular method of intake.

oops (Oops), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 01:46 (nineteen years ago) link

"No one has ever died from marijuana."

Maybe not from the pot itself, but certainly from its effects (ie. deaths in factories, automobiles, etc.).

peepee (peepee), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 01:52 (nineteen years ago) link

I HAVE OFFERED ALLY MARIJUANA

cutty (mcutt), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 01:55 (nineteen years ago) link

dude, don't even bother arguing with him on the topic.

You can roll your own cigarettes with tobacco minus all the store-bought cig additives as well you know.

XPOST IT'S TRUE, THE SAD THING IS I DON'T EVEN REMEMBER HOW TO WORK A BOWL AT THIS POINT, I AM SO OLD.

Allyzay Science Explosion (allyzay), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 01:57 (nineteen years ago) link

then I gave cutty a cigarette, which he immediately died from :( :(

Allyzay Science Explosion (allyzay), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 01:57 (nineteen years ago) link

oops (Oops), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 02:05 (nineteen years ago) link

people have also died in automobiles and factories without being stoned. No, really, it's true.

People die in cars while sober, how does that effect anti drink-driving campaigns?

Kevin Gilchrist (Mr Fusion), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 02:21 (nineteen years ago) link

Of course, it would still be odd to claim alcohol killed them, but I think you could say it was a contributing factor.
