good example of this is the little smooth rnb live guitar licks they put over the track on "Don't Front", reminds me of the old Stan the Guitar Man stuff on old Dre productions

someone needs to fucking stop people from writing about rap music on the internet when they don't know what the fuck theyre talking about. i stopped doing it because i know i don't know what the fuck im talking about so i do it here.

8ball and MJG no longer need to write lyrics. At this point, they could just make up words and take advantage of the fact that their voices are becoming even more gravelly, burdened by the weight of their mostly overlooked rap career. (Bad Boy signing notwithstanding—that just seemed like Diddy was using his wealth to help his rap heroes and we commend him for it.)

M@tt thats exactly right I think, like it sounds super modern & the sound is really sharp but instead of sounding dry its very very musical

'red and blue lights' is on some 'agent orange' w/out the gimmick sample plus a dose of mind playing tricks paranoia. j stalin does good choruses!

yeah musical is right...that's why the few tracks that do try a more hyphy real manic sounds sorta fall flat to me...

also i love how much gravitas jacka has when his verse finally enters on that track -- part of what bothered me about jacka doing tracks w/ like freeway is that i feel like it sorta shatters the illusion that these guys dont need the rest of rap cuz they have their own heroes
