I think 1992 vs. 2008 is closer than it seems because the rest of the world in 2008 was >>>>>>>>>>> the rest of the world in 1992, but still, the first team had 1992 Michael Jordan on it. 2008 team might be more important to the NBA because it led to immediate noticeable improvements by Wade and James, and set up for what Carmelo is doing this year, though. Did 1992 set off anybody other than Barkley this year?

08 was def more impressive by knocking off a stacked spain team and defending champs argentina, also psyched that half of that team will be in its prime in 2012

2008 has better athletes and Kobe contributes the "assasin" mentality, but 1992 has both Bird and MJ giving you that mentality plus Stockton for the whatever-it-takes gamesmanship maneuvers. 2008 has an old Kidd as the fast-break maestro, but 1992 has an old Magic doing the same but like y'know even better. The only true outside shooters on 2008 are Redd and Kobe and who knows what Redd would do in the clutch. 1992 you've got Bird and Mullin and Stockton and all got blue in the veins.

if '96 had MJ i'd prob take them over'08. allan houston and VC would get owned by kobe. if you switch pippen onto him you got grant hill or mitch rich guarding lbj...trouble either way. '96 shaq and the dream would expose howard's weaknesses to tha x-treme.

Bird hardly played due to his back issues though, iirc. Pip got the bulk of the SF minutes.

Take it from one who watched them both, the Admiral was great, but Hakeem was greater. (btw, tis a pity Yao is so rarely challenged by a center of equal stature; his game and his rep would greatly benefit by it.)
