Bryan Adams played "Summer of '69" at Grey Cup last November, in the fall/winter (in Canada winter starts in August) of '04. There's was no real reason to play THAT song. I think he did it just to piss of Ryan Adams, who threw the first pitch.

What kind of country has a first pitch at a football game?

Ryan Adams bought his first real six string, bought it at the 5 and dime. He played until his fingers bled...it was the summer of 69.

Actually... I was at a Ryan Adams solo gig in Leicester in Spring 2001, (i.e. before the joke had begun to wear thin, and before he transformed from Sensitive Troubadour to Arrogant Rawk Star) where (roughly speaking) the following exchange happened:

RA: Is everybody enjoying themselves
Crowd: Yes!
Belligerent Wag: No!
RA: Huh? No? Why not?
BW: Cuz I was expecting you to, y'know, rock out.
RA: (sympathetic, crestfallen) Oh, OK...
BW: I thought I was coming to see Bryan Adams!
Crowd: Nervous laughter.
RA: (good natured, amused) That Canadian guy? Oh, I'm sorry. Let's see if I can do one of his... (strums, sings) Look into my eyes, and you can see...um... (pause) everything I do, I do it for...no, I'm sorry, I don't know it.
Crowd: Wild, relieved applause.

And my boyfriend got to see his knob! But that's another story.

Bryan Adams’ Ex Claims The Singer Cheated With Princess Diana

Bryan Adams

When Bryan Adams has taken the stage to sing "Everything I Do (I Do It For You)" over the years, was he singing to someone other than his long-term girlfriend? According to Danish actress Cecilie Thomsen, who broke up with Adams last year after a 12-year relationship, the answer is "yes." Thomsen has just told Danish magazine Billed Bladet that while Adams was dating her, he was also carrying on an affair with Princess Diana.

Rumours of an affair between Adams and the late Diana have been circulating for years (the two did admit to being good friends), but the reports have usually been dismissed as tabloid gossip-mongering. Thomsen claims that Adams hooked up with Diana through Paul Burell, the Princess’ butler, who recently released a controversial tell-all book which reveals many details of Diana’s personal life. In the book, A Royal Duty, Burell claims that Diana had nine lovers and, although he doesn’t name any names, he describes one of her suitors as "a leading musician."

Adams, who is originally from Kingston, ON but has lived in the U.K. for some time now, sent the following statement to the British press: "Miss Thomsen doesn’t know anything about my friendship with Diana, nor does anyone else. Anything you have read from these reports is pure conjecture and supposition."

Now, that doesn’t exactly read as a denial, does it? Either way, Adams, who is in pretty tight with the Royal Family (he recently photographed Queen Elizabeth for a new Canadian stamp), will likely be gentleman enough to take the secret to his grave.

Strangely, Adams has been the subject of all kinds of weird tabloid reports this year. In May, he was mysteriously shot with an airgun while riding on his motorcycle in London (no worries, he wasn’t injured). Also, a few months earlier in March, a German girl was reportedly awoken from a six-year coma after attending an Adams concert.

Coincidentally, today is Adams’ 44th birthday. He shares his birthday with alt.country trouble maker Ryan Adams, who turns 29 today. Seriously.

Yeah, but RY slept with Parker Posey who was in Best in Show, which also starred Eugene Levy, who won a Grammy, who had a bird named Tweetie Pie, who always escaped the clutches and stomach of Sylvester, who once hung out with some Beatnik cats, who were inspired by Allen Ginsberg, who appeared on a record by the Clash, who were part of the late 70s London punk scene with the Sex Pistols, who had a hit record called "God Save the Queen," which was in honour of Queen Elizabeth II's Silver Jubilee, QE2 is the name of a boat, BRY sometimes lives in Vancouver, where they have a lot of boats. Coincidence or conspiracy?

i don't find that nearly as amusing as the fact that they have the same birthday.

After careful comparison, I give Ryan Adams a B minus.

three years pass...

Watching both at their prime years via youtube, I’d say Bryan seems way cooler than Ryan who tries too hard.

Nah just kidding Ryan Adams acoustic version of “gimme something good” is better than Bryan’s entire output. I’d still prefer having beers with the Canadian Adams.
