it is clear that your travels are causing you to re-evaluate your self. you are in unfamiliar places that make you question your self, your goals, your purpose, identity, place, etc. the fact that the cheap motel was from home is maybe clinging to some sense of security, but the frogs compel you to continue on this path of discovery and renewal.

i dreamt yesterday morning that a large black dog was at my bedside. it was really hyper and wanted to play and i was annoyed. i was trying to figure out how it got into my apartment and i found that my door was falling off its hinges. the door was also soft. i made the dog go out and tried to fix it but two more dogs came in! they were all coming from my upstairs neighbor's apartment. i told him it was his responsibility to fix it because his dogs were coming into my apartment, so he tried to help me, but i was holding the door awkwardly, making it impossible for him. i was holding it that way because i was naked and didn't want him to find out.

i also dreamt that i bought an iphone but they gave me a blackberry and i didn't realize until i got home. at that point i was like oh who cares, same thing, so i used it even before i had a plan! i was using the internet everywhere i went. but i didn't really like having it because i wanted to stop using the internet in public.

i dreamt that i was in a giant house in like poland or some weird european country, drinking with some friends from high school. then my old roommate came and we were talking about going somewhere but then jergins showed up! and he had this crazy jimmy levine hair but thinner and i said 'you don't look as tan as your blog led me to believe after all that time in fiji!' and then we decided to go somewhere and i found a bike but it was kind of broken down and this other tall guy joined us as we went shopping for disguises and got these hilarious giant plaid wool coats and a bunch of trinkets and a pizza at a shop and they gave us a big discount. then we all met up with my little sister to go to san tropez but then some girl said 'hey that's my mom's bike' so jergins and i had to go take the bike from inside and give it to her and then find the other bike i'd found that was kind of shitty and put it in storage and then we embarked on our journey, which involved hookers running up to the truck we were in (lol!) as we drove up a big hilly onramp and then i woke up.

apparently interpreting jergins' dreams puts him in my dream but i don't know about the rest of it.

i dreamt i was playing soccer and i full-on kicked my wife irl

I freamt that a middle-aged Mary Bell moved next door to me. she was required by law to reveal her identity to her neighbors, which she did by showing up at my door with a packet of newspaper clippings detailing her crimes. her new name was Marilyn, and she invited me to a bbq, provided that I didn't bring any kids along. I declined.

i dreamt i was going back to school to retake all the computer sciences (i only took computer science I irl and hated it). i was learning java. i felt like i forgot how to read just before the class started.

i also dreamt i was at a bar owned by danish ppl and their beer taps weren't working so i had to have something else and i asked the guy do you guys have rum and he got really angry and said NO so i said what else do you have and the danish lady said here, try this. it was some alcohol made of butter (those crazy danes!). it was also 13% abv but she said i had to drink the entire bottle so i did.

and i dreamt i was going to get a phd in something. not french but something similar.

i dreamt i was walking by some houses and al franken was on his front lawn playing badminton with his family. he had a cigarette hanging out of his mouth and was wearing a bathrobe. i said "hey senator al franken" and waved and he waved back at me.

i dreamed i was on a quick connecting flight from atlanta to greenville and it was this super fancy luxury plane, but the pilot kept circling or taking off and then landing again. finally, he tried to take off from a highway onramp and ended up nose-diving into the water. we were ok, and i kept trying to dive down to save belongings from sinking, especially my computer and something that was my sister's that i can't remember now. i was afraid if someone else stole my computer they would find something i was trying to hide? it was weird.

also i saw jaq and mr. jaq at the airport! i think they were on my plane, too. but not after the crash.

i dreamt my grandma gave me a teddy bear molded from gold chain mail

you can double the number of weird dreams you remember by setting 2 alarms, one 90 minutes before you wake up, one to wake up for good. i made this up myself but i am sure it is confirmed by science. it is also easier to wake up at your intended time because it will be the end of a sleep cycle imho

i think that's probably true bc i hit snooze a lot and i tend to remember the stuff right before i get up most.

not quite the same but...

i have had 3 dreams about the stray cat that my mom adopted that is now missing. in one of them his ear fell off! in last night's, he came home and we fed him and it was <3. i think he is gone forever after he got sonned in a turf beef w/ another cat :(

i had lots of little dream vignettes last night.
one included being pregnant!
one included dudes playing golf!
i can't remember the rest now.

I dreamt I was stationed on a battleship on the open sea. as the crew stood on deck, the wise old ship's captain pointed out a sloooow-moving tidal wave on the horizon & said that as soon as it arrived, it'd rip our boat to pieces and we'd all drown. then he said something like, "look on the bright side: our enemies are stationed on the opposite side of this ship, and when we drown, they drown." I and the rest of the crew were like, "...!" (puzzled horror), but the cap'n seemed calm and even a little jovial. luckily the dream ended before the inevitable happened.

lately (ok, the past year, really) half of my dreams have been about death. I hope there isn't anything prophetic going on here :-/

i dreamt someone called and left a message for me saying they wanted to offer me a job in minnesota (it was a written message and it said MN). when i returned the call it turned out there was a mistake and the job was in wisconsin so i turned it down. i think it means that in my dreams wisconsin and minnesota are really different.

I dreamt I went to the mall to rent a tuxedo. as I walked by an Italian food kiosk, a short guy in a toque, red-and-white checkered apron, and handlebar mustache approached me & asked if I wanted a free sample of pasagna. "what's pasagna?" I asked. he said it was a brand new combination of pasta and lasagna*. I said yes I would be honored to try your pasagna, but first I have to rent a tux for my sister's wedding. but by the time I got back from the tux shop, the pasagna kiosk was closed & I cursed my rotten luck.

*okay, I know all u pedants are itching to point out how redundant & illogical this is. but this is MY dream so shush.
