The Fighter, a film slated to star Christian Bale as Eklund and Mark Wahlberg as younger brother Micky Ward is scheduled to begin filming in late 2009.[4] The film will chronicle the brothers growing up in Lowell and how Eklund pushed Ward back into the ring after his early retirement leading to three bouts with Arturo Gatti. Three of Ward's post-retirement fights were voted fight of the year by Ring Magazine. Eklund served as Ward's trainer until his retirement after his third fight with Gatti on June 7, 2003.

Recently, the band has started work on their second album in The House Of Supreme Mathematics, a communal house where members of Foals and other Oxford bands live. The record in its inception has been described by the band members as sounding like “tropical prog” and “like the dream of an eagle dying”[3]. Neither of these descriptions is thought to be accurate.

Guy Lafleur's entire entry seems to be unusual details:

--

During the 1978 Stanley Cup finals, Boston Bruins Head Coach Don Cherry ordered his players to put their sticks up and hit Lafleur whenever they encountered him. At the end of the series, Lafleur's head was swathed in bandages after numerous slashes from Bruin players. After Montreal won the Stanley Cup, he borrowed it for the weekend without telling anyone to show his friends back home in Thurso, where he set it out on his front lawn for all his neighbours to see.

In 1979, Lafleur released an album called 'Lafleur'. The album consisted of Guy Lafleur reciting hockey instructions and singing, accompanied by disco music.

While driving home on March 24, 1981, Lafleur fell asleep at the wheel of his Cadillac and crashed into a highway fence. He was nearly decapitated when a metal post pierced the windshield missing his head by inches while tearing off part of his ear.

...

Lafleur currently operates a helicopter rental company in Montreal that shuttles VIPs to and from the airport. He was at the controls when the Tampa Bay Lightning's André Roy proposed to his fiancée, the Stanley Cup serving as the engagement ring bearer.

McKenna hypothesized that as the North African jungles receded and gave way to savannas and grasslands near the end of the most recent ice age, a branch of our tree-dwelling primate ancestors left the forest canopy and began to live in the open areas outside of the forest. There they experimented with new varieties of foods as they adapted, physically and mentally, to their new environment.

Among the new food items found in this new environment were psilocybin-containing mushrooms growing near the dung of ungulate herds that occupied the savannas and grasslands at that time. McKenna, referencing the research of Roland L. Fisher,[17][18][19][20] claimed that enhancement of visual acuity was an effect of psilocybin at low doses, and supposed that this would have conferred an adaptive advantage. He also argued that the effects of slightly larger doses, including sexual arousal, and in still larger doses, ecstatic hallucinations and glossolalia — gave selective evolutionary advantages to members of those tribes who partook of it. There were many changes caused by the introduction of this psychoactive mushroom to the primate diet. McKenna hypothesizes, for instance, that synesthesia (the blurring of boundaries between the senses) caused by psilocybin led to the development of spoken language: the ability to form pictures in another person's mind through the use of vocal sound

* "Mr. Bucket - Buckets of fun!"

Hawkins had several further hits, including "Constipation Blues", "Orange Colored Sky", and "Feast of the Mau Mau". Nothing he released, however, had the monumental success of "I Put a Spell on You". In fact, "Constipation Blues" has been described as "gross".[6] In Paris in 1999 and at the Taste of Chicago festival, he actually performed the song with a toilet onstage.[7]

About the balance beams used in women's gymnastics:

Most beams in the US are designed and supplied by "Hugo's Beam Store" based in Germantown, Ohio. The most popular models as of June 2009 were: "Racecar," "United States Flag," and "Rock-climber." Add-on components include special bolts, small wrist pads, and an extensive selection of decals. Because the price of stickers for the side of a beam is often high, most gyms choose to select one or two decals, at most. The decals displayed on a beam club's "home beam" are a source of much pride, and also carry great influence over the judge's scores in most sanctioned matches, so careful consideration is made before stickers are purchased and applied.

In re: the Macc Lads:

Their last gig was a private one in 1997 for Muttley's local football team Mary Dendy, in Macclesfield. The line up was Muttley, Winston Dread, Al O'Peesha and Johnny Mard.

The last time the band were together was in 1999 for an interview in the Ivy House pub, Park Lane, Macclesfield for 'The Bear's Head' fan website. The line up present was Stez Styx, The Beater and Muttley. Also present was Al O'Peesha and the interview was conducted by long time fan and Bear's Head site contributor Liquid Goblin.

An appearance on some obscure cable TV channel in the early noughties was planned with the band booked to perform 'Buenos Aries 2003'. However Dubya invaded a week too early so the appearance was shelved.
