conceptualizing this platform as a google wave killer is imo a v lokakuu pov - the realtime cloud has evolved since then - if we implement scalability by helmikuu its not unresolvable to think well own wens AND twitter by kesäkuu

btw this is using its ajax framework as a huuuuge crutch imo...

max, Monday, 30 November 2009 20:41 (fourteen years ago) link

What's the point of using object methods when you can't even be sure whether or not they support complete orthogonality between objects and data structures? To say nothing of automatic garbage collection.

so says surgeon snoball (snoball), Monday, 30 November 2009 20:45 (fourteen years ago) link

orthogonality is a second-tier goal for this i think--besides the data structures are all being recoded from the ground up soon

max, Monday, 30 November 2009 20:51 (fourteen years ago) link

remind me of the url for the restful api, i need to export all my data before yahoo arrives.

OH THAT'S RIGHT THERE IS NO API

caek, Monday, 30 November 2009 21:06 (fourteen years ago) link

duh, just interpolate it into a double quoted string, then there's No Way that the variable will contain code that does something you're intending (although it's possible to generate tags that the remote browser isn't expecting)

so says surgeon snoball (snoball), Monday, 30 November 2009 21:11 (fourteen years ago) link

speaking of which--tag implementation on this feels really first-gen, kind of surprised it wasnt improved even for the beta

max, Monday, 30 November 2009 21:13 (fourteen years ago) link

its like--what is this, 2007? am i right?

max, Monday, 30 November 2009 21:13 (fourteen years ago) link

It's kludgy, but use a package to define how the Engine sees the pattern by redefining the metasymbols

so says surgeon snoball (snoball), Monday, 30 November 2009 21:19 (fourteen years ago) link

its becoming increasingly clear that this needs to be a suite of apis

That's asking for trouble, unless we have source control and a daily build.

i'm trying to upload my new user profile using Bee 2.3, can someone help me?

jazzgasms (Mr. Que), Wednesday, 9 December 2009 20:12 (fourteen years ago) link

You'll need to upgrade your BeeBox to a DataHive that supports at least 2^16 hexacombs.

HUH? not appropriate (snoball), Wednesday, 9 December 2009 20:15 (fourteen years ago) link

Alternatively, borrow a Transputer cluster with a hypercube configuration and back-email the profile key to yourself two days ago. If you do it right, it should appear straight in the MI5 Registry right next to ".bin laden".

HUH? not appropriate (snoball), Wednesday, 9 December 2009 20:18 (fourteen years ago) link

is anyone having port mapping problems w/ the end-user client

max, Wednesday, 9 December 2009 20:33 (fourteen years ago) link

still havent got this to work btw

max, Wednesday, 9 December 2009 20:33 (fourteen years ago) link

you need to run the 3.7601r firmware update if you can read this

bnw, Wednesday, 9 December 2009 20:36 (fourteen years ago) link

Sounds like you need to configure your DSL NTBBA to allow NAT to LAN with RPF (AKA RPT) on both TCP and UDP, while ensuring that DCHP doesn't interfere with IP allocation to your NICs, OK?

HUH? not appropriate (snoball), Wednesday, 9 December 2009 20:40 (fourteen years ago) link
