just to see him coaching annual vendetta games against the raiders AND the broncos

I honestly was shocked that he didn't go to the Chiefs. Maybe he thought their talent level was too low?

i couldn't take a whole season of looking at his teeth. Although some whiteout snowstorms in Buff might solve that problem.

haha j0rdan i'm not offended; i don't think it's going to happen, either, but i am enjoying this moment of hope and possibility

tom brady discusses fashion

Pleats or flat fronts? "Flat fronts. Always. I see so many guys, really athletic guys, wearing pleats and I just shake my head. Like, Tiger Woods used to wear pleated pants! I'm like, C'mon, Tiger!"

Does the wife tell you what to wear? "I think any man who lets a woman pick what he should wear... I mean, you gotta draw the line somewhere as a man. I see these guys, 'My wife told me to wear this!' And I just shake my head."

SMH

i have to give him props for his principled anti-pleats stance

NEW YORK DESERVED 9-11 (cankles), Wednesday, 18 November 2009 23:41 (fourteen years ago) link

i mean, clearly this has gone too far, but for about 95% of everything that has happened in the world in at least the past six months, my thoughts on it are pretty much SMH

Guys, I had a dream last night that Westbrook's career was over. :/

Mordy, Thursday, 19 November 2009 00:24 (fourteen years ago) link

it probably is

chillwave dudes get washed out, totally (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 19 November 2009 00:24 (fourteen years ago) link

It's super sadface for me. Westbrook + McNabb have been my heroes for years.

Mordy, Thursday, 19 November 2009 00:25 (fourteen years ago) link

They are Philly football for me.

Mordy, Thursday, 19 November 2009 00:25 (fourteen years ago) link

i feel u - embrace the mccoy tho, he's good

chillwave dudes get washed out, totally (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 19 November 2009 00:26 (fourteen years ago) link

I have a hard time loving McCoy. Tho he did have an amazing TD rush two weeks ago...

Mordy, Thursday, 19 November 2009 00:27 (fourteen years ago) link

he will never be able to replace westbrook as a pass catcher (ray rice is the new westbrook fyi) but he can be a really good rb & more than serviceable out of the backfield. like, philly has been dominant for pretty much the whole decade, and kolb + mccoy + jackson + maclin is arguably the best young offensive nucleus in football, which is a bit weird considering that the eagles aren't & haven't been anywhere near rebuilding

chillwave dudes get washed out, totally (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 19 November 2009 00:28 (fourteen years ago) link

they might try and grab a shifty, westbrook type in the draft or FA for obv passing downs but if they get their run/pass ratio a bit closer to 50/50 mccoy can be a big weapon

chillwave dudes get washed out, totally (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 19 November 2009 00:29 (fourteen years ago) link

i guess falcons, giants, cowboys & maybe packers have better young offensive nucleuses in the NFC but the eagles four are super young & are playing at a pretty high level atm

chillwave dudes get washed out, totally (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 19 November 2009 00:32 (fourteen years ago) link

that's an... interesting assertion

my first instinct was to scoff but when i think about it idk if i can disagree

NEW YORK DESERVED 9-11 (cankles), Thursday, 19 November 2009 00:51 (fourteen years ago) link

like, obv you would take romo + barber + austin + williams (?) over kolb + mccoy + jackson + maclin if mcnabb & westbrook theoretically both retired after this season, but the eagles have young players in place that could be a force in two or three years and yet they are still a playoff contender basically every season. it's pretty interesting — i mean it's all about great drafting of course, if you think about perpetually rebuilding teams like bills/browns/raiders/redskins/rams/lions etc etc it's pretty impressive what the iggs have in place

chillwave dudes get washed out, totally (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 19 November 2009 00:58 (fourteen years ago) link

maybe i'm reaching a bit, obv kolb has played only a few games (but he's increasingly looking schaub-esque) & mccoy is still a rook but, even the vikings will have a hole at QB, ravens have no good WR, the bears need a WR, ryan grant may not be all what he was cracked up to be - philly has a solid foundation, i'm very intrigued by them

chillwave dudes get washed out, totally (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 19 November 2009 01:01 (fourteen years ago) link

by schaub-esque i'm referring to him being a potential starter languishing behind a (still) pretty good qb

chillwave dudes get washed out, totally (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 19 November 2009 01:02 (fourteen years ago) link

i dunno, i think he's more cassel-esque myself, ymmv

chillwave dudes get washed out, totally (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 19 November 2009 01:05 (fourteen years ago) link

this is a fucking bad ass draft tho

2009 1 19(19) Eagles Jeremy Maclin WR Missouri
Pick Note from Tampa Bay through Cleveland
2009 2 21(53) Eagles LeSean McCoy RB Pittsburgh
2009 5 17(153) Eagles Cornelius Ingram TE Florida
Pick Note from N.Y. Jets
2009 5 21(157) Eagles Victor Harris CB Virginia Tech

chillwave dudes get washed out, totally (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 19 November 2009 01:05 (fourteen years ago) link

looking at kolb tho, i would say he already is or has a chance to be better than all of these 06-08 1st-3rd round qb draftees:

vince young, leinart, kellen clemens, tarvaris jackson, jamarcus russell, brady quinn, john beck, drew stanton, trent edwards, brian brohm, chad henne, kevin o connell

chillwave dudes get washed out, totally (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 19 November 2009 01:08 (fourteen years ago) link

sorry for (eagles) blogging btw

chillwave dudes get washed out, totally (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 19 November 2009 01:08 (fourteen years ago) link

if you didn't get flacco or matt ryan, your QB draftee is shaky at best (henne good value & maybe edwards - kolb might be better considering draft value versus VY & certainly leinart [i guess?])

chillwave dudes get washed out, totally (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 19 November 2009 01:10 (fourteen years ago) link

if you can't tell i'm majorly procrastinating on schoolwork by dissecting the eagles draft picks & their potential 2011 starting line up

chillwave dudes get washed out, totally (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 19 November 2009 01:11 (fourteen years ago) link

thank u 4 card ^_^ - wkiw all this kolb

chillwave dudes get washed out, totally (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 19 November 2009 01:13 (fourteen years ago) link

tho mccoy hasnt been very good this year i'm not really too high on him in general, but he can probably be a weapon for the eagles if they use him right

for some reason i thought kolb was unusually old but i guess i was thinkin of that mormon nigga john beck

kolb's kinda the wild card, he's definitely looked good in limited action but it's tough to evaluate him based on a couple of spot starts

the eagles o-line is a goddamn mess but there IS a ton of young talent w/upside there... in a year or two that could be a kickass unit, or could continue to be a goddamn mess

it's hard to make a great argument for a lot of other teams though - the cowboys have a ton of young skill position talent, but the o-line's on the old side and romo's almost 30 and has shown remarkably little improvement in his critical problem areas (sloppy footwork etc); packers have a great combo with rodgers & jennings but are really thin on the o-line and at running back; as far as long term building block guys the falcons really have ryan and roddy (and roddy white's older than you'd think) and then some somewhat unknown quantities in turner and norwood (persistent injury probs w/jerious, turner had been suckin ass for most of the season until the past few weeks and then blammo high ankle sprain - he's signed w/the team for a while but i have no idea what kind of player he's going to be for the next few years); the giants have a ballin' young receiving corps and are solid on the o-line, but the backs have been unexceptional this year and eli's another guy who's closing in on 30; the ravens are looking really good at o-line, rb and qb, but once todd heap and derrick mason crumble into dust ray rice will be their only weapon in the passing game

NEW YORK DESERVED 9-11 (cankles), Thursday, 19 November 2009 01:17 (fourteen years ago) link

romo is kinda like a kurt warner type without the gameface and without red zone playoff skills.

jØrdån (omar little), Thursday, 19 November 2009 01:19 (fourteen years ago) link

i love the idea of derrick mason crumbling into dust

xp tbh, it could just be the evolution!! if they introduce more pat white, also ricky will man the cat, just prob not as often as ronnie

chillwave dudes get washed out, totally (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 19 November 2009 02:23 (fourteen years ago) link

like, my dream is for the dolphins to run 8-10 wildcat plays + 10-12 plays of pat white out of the pistol

chillwave dudes get washed out, totally (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 19 November 2009 02:23 (fourteen years ago) link

i hope you're right because i love watching that team play

omaha deserved 311 (call all destroyer), Thursday, 19 November 2009 02:34 (fourteen years ago) link

yeah, tomorrow night's game is either gonna be a new offensive frontier or lots or henne throwing lots of 8 yd curl routes

chillwave dudes get washed out, totally (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 19 November 2009 02:36 (fourteen years ago) link

Henne is good enough to get the team leading, but tricky offensive schemes will be required to keep that lead.

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 19 November 2009 02:38 (fourteen years ago) link

The Bears are old school cheap and don't really fire coaches with contract money still on the table. I don't think Lovie Smith is going anywhere as I cannot see the McCaskey's having to pay for two contract years.

earlnash, Thursday, 19 November 2009 03:29 (fourteen years ago) link

C'mon they gave an extra season to guys like Jauron and Wannstedt and they didn't even get to a Superbowl, I'll be really surprised if Lovie Smith goes anywhere. Ron Turner on the other hand...I could maybe see that changing.

earlnash, Thursday, 19 November 2009 03:34 (fourteen years ago) link

in re "young offensive nucleuses" skill positions are nice but they live and die by the line and donald driver

all yoga attacks are fire based (rogermexico.), Thursday, 19 November 2009 04:48 (fourteen years ago) link

Panthers
Steelers
Cowboys
Jax
Vikes
GB; really not sure where the SF luv is coming from on this one.
Lions
Atlanta, in one of those "something about this line smells fucked up" hunches
Colts
Saints
SD
Bengal Tigers
Arizona
NE
Eagles
Titans

WmC, Thursday, 19 November 2009 15:27 (fourteen years ago) link

I picked SF, too, but it might be because I am hoping this will be their breakout game where everything finally comes together.. hah. Probably GB is a better bet, esp at home.

Buck Utah (rockapads), Thursday, 19 November 2009 19:04 (fourteen years ago) link

I think SF's defense is going to rape Aaron Rodgers, basically.

windy = white, carl = black (polyphonic), Thursday, 19 November 2009 20:11 (fourteen years ago) link

their defense is aight, tennessee shredded them a few weeks ago. i think there is much better chance that the green bay D picks alex smith off 3 times.

chillwave dudes get washed out, totally (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 19 November 2009 20:15 (fourteen years ago) link

I don't see why GB would be a sure thing pick at all. GB is 5-4 and SF is 4-5, but there are times this season when GB has looked absolutely terrible, including just two weeks ago at Tampa Bay, who got their first win of the season against them. True, GB is at home for this game, but Lambeau isn't the fortress it used to be and SF has arguably played better on the road.
