squarefair (Shakey Mo Collier), Wednesday, 11 November 2009 17:07 (fourteen years ago) link

i really liked charlie's obsession with "bird law" earlier this season.

congratulations (n/a), Wednesday, 11 November 2009 17:08 (fourteen years ago) link

also lolz why did they give one of those Flavor of Love bimbos a job

squarefair (Shakey Mo Collier), Wednesday, 11 November 2009 17:16 (fourteen years ago) link

or was it Rock of Love I don't even care anymore

squarefair (Shakey Mo Collier), Wednesday, 11 November 2009 17:16 (fourteen years ago) link

It definitely makes sense, but only last week while watching live did I blatantly realize that almost every commercial during Sunny was for beer, movies, and video games.

Michael F Gill, Wednesday, 11 November 2009 17:52 (fourteen years ago) link

And that fucking horrible looking show "The League"

mayor jingleberries, Wednesday, 11 November 2009 18:22 (fourteen years ago) link

Let us also never forget that fucking horrible looking show "Testees"

every once and a while, while watching TV, I start laughing so hard that I have trouble breathing and almost pass out. It hadn't happened in ages, it used to happen in Arrested Development. Maybe once with 30 Rock.

This most recent episode of Sunny, which wasn't as good as the best ones of this season, had one that totally killed me. Frank using the knife on his toes and suddenly exclaiming....

Botched Toe, oh I botched it, that's a botched toe.

Or whatever variation. I'm giggling just thinking about it.

cat in the wall was super lol - love how they treat absurd scenarios as mundane - like dennis is trying to get dee to watch predator and shes all shh my cats in the wall as if its a reasonable thing

ice cr?m, Monday, 16 November 2009 04:14 (fourteen years ago) link

totally, every situation is something to be totally expecting. Like Charlie saying "oh a cat in the wall situation, here's what you do..."

And this classic exchange I saw coming a mile away...(paraphrased from memory of course)

Charlie: Here's what you do, you put another cat in the wall with string tied to it
Dee: Where are you gonna get another cat?
Charlie: That's no problem, there's like 10 following me. They've been following me around.

"cat in the wall? now you're speaking my language"

this season has also been a lot about frank being totally disgusting, eating trash etc which is always very funny

sonderangerbot, Monday, 16 November 2009 11:27 (fourteen years ago) link

let us also not forget the time when frank tried to use garbage as a bandage

mayor jingleberries, Monday, 16 November 2009 19:02 (fourteen years ago) link

i think it's important to mention why like 10 cats followed Charlie to Dee's house: possibly because he and Frank EAT CAT FOOD (first broached in season 2 iirc) lol!!

feed them to the (Linden Ave) lions (will), Monday, 16 November 2009 19:17 (fourteen years ago) link

so many excellent running jokes

I just love how EXCITED Charlie gets about green man

itdn put butt in the display name (gbx), Monday, 16 November 2009 19:26 (fourteen years ago) link

lol he still think that he can convince them green man is awesome by being all COME ON GREEN MAN!!! even though theyve been shitting on the concept since high school

SMH (ice cr?m), Monday, 16 November 2009 19:28 (fourteen years ago) link

the fact that it is even a ~concept that one COULD get excited about is pretty hilarious to me

itdn put butt in the display name (gbx), Monday, 16 November 2009 19:34 (fourteen years ago) link

tbh id be pretty excited to dress up in that suit

SMH (ice cr?m), Monday, 16 November 2009 19:35 (fourteen years ago) link

Anyone seen the Christmas special? I thought it was pretty funny; disturbing in parts, but the bit where Charlie interrogates the Santa Claus at the mall and starts biting his neck was classic.

Adam Bruneau, Monday, 16 November 2009 20:03 (fourteen years ago) link

well obv wearing the suit would be dope as heck, but the SITUATION of the SUIT and WHAT IT MEANS is funny to me

itdn put butt in the display name (gbx), Monday, 16 November 2009 20:21 (fourteen years ago) link

I saw the xmas special and was mostly bemused by why it was out now, but it is very funny. The Mac and Charlie childhood bits were great.

Oh man. It happened with Friends, and Scrubs, and Grey's Anatomy, and any number of other popular TV shows. I finally caught an episode of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia tonight and ugh. Don't see the appeal. Maybe it was just a weak episode. It involved one jackass trying to teach three other jackasses the perfect way to score and dump chicks.

Yeah. Right.

Hey Jude, Sunday, 22 November 2009 05:55 (fourteen years ago) link

Holy shit, IASIP is nothing like those other shows you mentioned.

This is like the biggest challops I've ever seen on ILX (and that's saying a lot!)

Mordy, Sunday, 22 November 2009 06:22 (fourteen years ago) link

It's weird, a couple years ago I had a bunch of people tell me how great this show is and I just couldn't get into it at all. My wife started watching this on Hulu and it's slowly sucked me in, like I find myself laughing about something the next day.

joygoat, Sunday, 22 November 2009 07:01 (fourteen years ago) link

It wasn't the best episode, to be fair.

I mean, especially as a first episode.

ice cr?m, Monday, 23 November 2009 01:05 (fourteen years ago) link

Why would someone sock puppet IASIP thread???? :'(

Mordy, Monday, 23 November 2009 01:14 (fourteen years ago) link

the world just aint right these days

ice cr?m, Monday, 23 November 2009 01:18 (fourteen years ago) link

Chill, peeps. I'm no one's sock puppet. I watched an ep of the show because I'd heard that it was really good, and I found myself underwhelmed. These things happen. I'll give it another shot if I ever happen to find it again.

For what it's worth, I'm a fan of Fringe, Supernatural, House (barely, at this point), and much of the Science and Discovery channels. Just by way of comparison.

Oh... and I think 30 Rock is pretty funny, but I never really got Seinfeld.

Hey Jude, Monday, 23 November 2009 18:30 (fourteen years ago) link

Hey Jude, you should watch another episode or two, this show is hilarious. I'll suggest you start with the Gang Solves the Gas Crisis.

You know what's weird and has gone unmentioned in this thread? That FRED SAVAGE has directed the most episodes. Who knew?

and party down - kevin arnold on fire!

ice cr?m, Tuesday, 24 November 2009 18:25 (fourteen years ago) link

rickety cricket has directed a bunch of episodes too

congratulations (n/a), Tuesday, 24 November 2009 18:30 (fourteen years ago) link

I dislike the Boyle family, and like Artemis and shenanigans involving Mac and Charlie's moms, so this season has been good to me so far, as far as guest characters go.
