Czesc Bob. Dziekuje. Every kind word gives me more confidence, but I still need about 20 minutes to write a few lines ;) Should we write in Polish or English on this thread then ? ;)

Even as I'm enjoying listening to Scary World Theory, part of me wonders whether it will all suddenly seem hollow, like so many things that at first sound like they were designed to appeal to me. Then 1 or 2 tracks it closes with put away any doubts, although all I can recall is their restraint.

(David, how's your 102BT Pt II coming?)

haha, Curtis - it was that that got me to thinking. I finished it a while ago, and also re-read it about three weeks ago and was quite happy with the result (though I used 'melisma' again when I meant 'miasma' when I meant 'she sounds like a railway station announcer' - no doubt I'll get a bollocking again.) Thanks much for the copy Curt. My opinion on Lali Puna = excellent all encompassing scary world Theory on a par with 'Entertainment' (Gang of Four. Genuinely this time, I'm not just baiting Alex in NYC.)

Lali Puna - potentially classic. Morr Music and City Centre Offices output seems frighteningly consistent right now. It's completely non-deliberate on my part but most of the best music I've bought this year seems to be German or to have German connections (add a few Kitty Yo things and the Notwist to that too, and Stereo Total). What are Tied and Tickled Trio like?

Actually, I've answered my own question about T&TT. as I downloaded some stuff last night. Hmmm....not convinced on first listening. It seems a bit close to the free-jazz/Tortoise thing and I was never into that. I prefer Lali Puna's atmospherics and the Notwist's melancholic melody.

Good question! I haven't thought about them in a while, but Faking the Books was one of my favorites of the early 00s. I think I was one of the few who liked it more than SWT (which is also ace IMO).

OMG @ the new tracks!!! I listened to several of these guys' albums several times and never loved them, but these two tracks are fucking great.

<3 these guys & its good to see they didn't just drop off the face of the planet. 1-800-Fear was my jam back in the day. Stevie, one of those tracks is not new, but is in fact the first song from their 2004 LP. I believe "Remember" is a new track, tho. I've never heard of it, at least.

Shit boy I'm totally "reapproaching" their earlier albums or w/e

"Remember" sounds great, can't wait to hear the whole album.
worth tracking down is the song "Out There" from Yukihiro Takahashi's album "Page By Page" from last year, its a Lali Puna track in all but name. its on his myspace http://www.myspace.com/yukihirotakahashi

seven years pass...

Just listening to the new album 'Two Windows' now (out yesterday). Really lovely stuff, even the Kings of Leaving n cover. Can't believe it's been seven years.
