xpost Oh I know what it means, but as English is still my second language, some things just sound really... weird/funny.

ken c, Tuesday, 28 August 2007 13:09 (sixteen years ago) link

ken c, Tuesday, 28 August 2007 13:10 (sixteen years ago) link

Grandpont Genie, Tuesday, 28 August 2007 13:22 (sixteen years ago) link

damnit, i haven't
maybe i should ask stevie nixed. you should buy my wedding ring from her jewelry store :)

I still need to get my blue tux.

ken c, Tuesday, 28 August 2007 13:40 (sixteen years ago) link

Rubyredd, Tuesday, 28 August 2007 13:49 (sixteen years ago) link

I'm seeing Ken tonight, Rubes, want me to lean on him about anything on your behalf? I can resurrect my internet hardman guise for one night only if he's messing you about...

Mark C, Tuesday, 28 August 2007 14:16 (sixteen years ago) link

Mark C is going to contribute some funds towards our wedding tonight.

ken c, Tuesday, 28 August 2007 14:17 (sixteen years ago) link

actually, i've just had another marriage proposal... and this one is willing to fly to NZ to follow through on it...

Rubyredd, Tuesday, 28 August 2007 14:31 (sixteen years ago) link

Rubyredd, Tuesday, 28 August 2007 14:33 (sixteen years ago) link

Ms Misery, Tuesday, 28 August 2007 14:36 (sixteen years ago) link

Rubyredd, Tuesday, 28 August 2007 14:37 (sixteen years ago) link

no it is just prop as in propping something up

-- Grandpont Genie, Tuesday, 28 August 2007 13:22 (1 hour ago) Link

nah I'm pretty sure it's just a contraction of "propers"

bernard snowy, Tuesday, 28 August 2007 14:43 (sixteen years ago) link

more ILXers should add the Political Compass app

i wish i could block all the 'fun 'n games' app invites from friends tho

blueski, Thursday, 30 August 2007 12:01 (sixteen years ago) link

You could join the "Stop asking me to use wanky new applications" group. Not that that'll achieve anything.

ledge, Thursday, 30 August 2007 12:03 (sixteen years ago) link

yes yes, FREE RINGS. I wanna see you guys married! :-)

nathalie, Thursday, 30 August 2007 12:41 (sixteen years ago) link

yeah it is annoying how many of my friends facebook asserts want me to add wanky new applications. i thought i picked smarter friends.

Maria, Thursday, 30 August 2007 12:53 (sixteen years ago) link

How do I turn off being updated of what my friends did with their wanky applications? I don't care who J**** T****** is nominating as mostly likely to end up in prison or whatever.

Colonel Poo, Thursday, 30 August 2007 14:07 (sixteen years ago) link

you can change your settings for your newsfeed preferences, just turn the applications update right down?

i can't believe in just over 2 weeks' time i'll be married!

ken c, Thursday, 30 August 2007 14:09 (sixteen years ago) link

I would do that, but there's isn't an applications update on the newsfeed preferences.

Colonel Poo, Thursday, 30 August 2007 14:13 (sixteen years ago) link

soz :(

ken c, Thursday, 30 August 2007 14:22 (sixteen years ago) link

i've just checked - what about those tick boxes on the side?

ken c, Thursday, 30 August 2007 14:25 (sixteen years ago) link

Which tick boxes?

Colonel Poo, Thursday, 30 August 2007 14:27 (sixteen years ago) link

tick boxes, mite fights

Just got offed, Thursday, 30 August 2007 14:34 (sixteen years ago) link

how do you feel about reading your friends wall-to-wall's with each other?

blueski, Thursday, 30 August 2007 15:03 (sixteen years ago) link

I feel like a crotchety old man who wants to shout "keep your private conversations in your inboxes! Use the in-game messaging for scrabble talk! Stop using facebook where email will do!"

ledge, Thursday, 30 August 2007 15:08 (sixteen years ago) link

facebook is full of jizz-gargling arsefaces.

Grandpont Genie, Thursday, 30 August 2007 15:09 (sixteen years ago) link

the other day i found out a guy from my year at school died last year via 2 other friends wall-to-wall.

blueski, Thursday, 30 August 2007 15:15 (sixteen years ago) link

sorry ken, you've been relegated to plan B - i've just gotten hitched to someone else.

Rubyredd, Friday, 31 August 2007 02:44 (sixteen years ago) link

damn! i thought it was forever ;)

who is the lucky fella?

ken c, Friday, 31 August 2007 10:12 (sixteen years ago) link

can someone explain to me the point of 'poking'? It doesn't seem to have any function?

gem, Friday, 31 August 2007 11:37 (sixteen years ago) link

i only poke when poked; rather than being a means to acknowledge another's presence, it seems to be more a means to remind another of one's own presence. i.e. ppl be attention-seekin'/horny

Just got offed, Friday, 31 August 2007 11:40 (sixteen years ago) link

i don't really get the point of the aquariums and gifts an superpokes and whatnot either. actually I'm struggling a bit with the point of facebook itself. perhaps all of my confusion can be explained by me joining the 'unlike 99.99% of users I was born in the 70s' group.

gem, Friday, 31 August 2007 11:42 (sixteen years ago) link

also no one has suggested horniness to me! The only people who poke me are female friends who I've known for years at a stretch. Don't tell me I'm being rejected on yet another interface...

gem, Friday, 31 August 2007 11:44 (sixteen years ago) link

my friend's 30 next week and there's gonna be a lot more people from school there thanks to facebook.

won't know if this is good or bad til after the party but will be nice to see some if not all of them i think.

blueski, Friday, 31 August 2007 11:59 (sixteen years ago) link

i think the point of poking is it allows whoever you poked to see your profile page for a week; i guess it's kinda giving people who you want to friend a chance to friend you first - and save you the humiliation of rejection if you friend them and they deny you (well, that's what i've used it for)

Rubyredd, Friday, 31 August 2007 13:43 (sixteen years ago) link

she reminds me of someone - but who?

blueski, Friday, 31 August 2007 15:34 (sixteen years ago) link

misha barton

Girl looks like Ally with ginger hair.

Matt DC, Friday, 31 August 2007 15:40 (sixteen years ago) link

""keep your private conversations in your inboxes! Use the in-game messaging for scrabble talk! Stop using facebook where email will do!""

i say this all the time.

titchyschneiderMk2, Friday, 31 August 2007 15:40 (sixteen years ago) link

I'll be really curious to see if ILx lasts until we're all in our sixties. I can't even imagine the level of moaning over trivial annoyances by that point.
