I had to go dairy- and egg-free for three weeks when Howie was fully breastfed to see if it affected his eczema (it made no difference, though later on he turned out to have milk intolerance -- now outgrown -- and an egg allergy).

So I appreciate what a pain it is! We were told to do it for three weeks minimum to see if it made a difference -- and make sure you are eliminating stuff like whey, too.

Yeah, Sylvie was having something that was akin to eczema (or maybe just baby acne), and since we've gotten rid of dairy, her skin seems to have cleared up. But we're not sure about the fussiness/gassiness. I guess all babies have moments of fussiness/gassiness regardless of what the mother's diet is ...

We read, and later experientially confirmed, gassiness in the baby after mom ate broccoli.

Yeah I think anything potentially gassy gets inherited by the little one i.e. cabbage etc

For the first three months or so the lovely Emma B gave up dairy had just one cup of coffee a day. Then she gradually started having some yogurt now and then, then cheese, etc. Now she's back to normal but she isn't eating as much cheese or drinking as much coffee as before - no bad thing, really.
