Is there much happening in August, apart from Cross Central? I quite fancy a couple of big nights and this thread has been very quiet of late.

So, I am going to Fabric tonight. Nothing really good on there, just some friends playing in Room 3. If anyone ends up there for whatever reason, say "Hey". I will say "Hi" back.

anything on this weekend?

Ed (dali), Monday, 31 July 2006 07:01 (seventeen years ago) link

Looking around briefly, nothing terribly exciting. Fabric has Craig Richards, Ewan Pearson, Prins Thomas and Spirit Catcher live which could be good, but almost certainly not your thing.

I want to go dancing this weekend though.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 31 July 2006 07:20 (seventeen years ago) link

I want to be back in sheffield I got texts on saturday night about a minimal techno free party, in a roman era gritstone quarry, from ambrose and was V. jealous.

Ed (dali), Monday, 31 July 2006 07:25 (seventeen years ago) link

i think i may need a small break from the dancing. i realised yesterday that all my weekends these days appear to have at least one night of no sleep in them, this may not be something that it is perhaps wise to do every week, and i need to save energy for the second half of august.

ie, call me on friday.

The Lex (The Lex), Monday, 31 July 2006 08:32 (seventeen years ago) link

Anyone up for Errorsmith on Saturday?

http://www.errorsmith.de/

Terms like "spastic disco", "elastic breaks", even "wonky techno" have been thrown about when it comes to describing Erik Wiegand's Errorsmith project. With only a handful of releases and even less live visibility, this is a rare treat for anyone interested in the more experimental end of dancefloor rhythms. He'll be treating us to an improvised three-hour Ableton Live set that'll see dancehall / dubstep / disco as well as his own twisted creations being thrown into a heady mix. Just bear in mind that he comes from Berlin's revered Basic Channel family of artists and you'll be fine. Sonic perfection stretched to breaking point.

Ed (dali), Thursday, 3 August 2006 08:37 (seventeen years ago) link

Is anything happening this weekend? My friend is down and she wants to go dancing.

Raw Patrick (Raw Patrick), Monday, 7 August 2006 09:02 (seventeen years ago) link

i'm not sure - i only just realised that this weekend is not acid on sea weekend yet.

i quite enjoyed the novelty of sleeping properly throughout this weekend, i might do it again!

The Lex (The Lex), Monday, 7 August 2006 09:37 (seventeen years ago) link

i can always be tempted though. usually it's gareth who does the tempting.

The Lex (The Lex), Monday, 7 August 2006 09:37 (seventeen years ago) link

i went to a warehouse party in seven sisters,

im thinking bangface this weekend, though i'm always open to other options

-- (688), Monday, 7 August 2006 10:45 (seventeen years ago) link

That looks awesome! Unfortunately my working week has gone very wrong very quickly and I'm glad I'm alert enough to try and salvage it.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 7 August 2006 10:47 (seventeen years ago) link

also, talking of acid on sea, i met a couple who met each other at last years acid on sea

-- (688), Monday, 7 August 2006 10:50 (seventeen years ago) link

SL2, B12 ... ?!!

Euai Kapaui (tracerhand), Monday, 7 August 2006 10:53 (seventeen years ago) link

gareth have you got your acid on sea ticket yet? they're probably sold out now!

The Lex (The Lex), Monday, 7 August 2006 11:02 (seventeen years ago) link

Bangface does look great but I think my friend would go mental after ten minutes and cry.

(Acid on Sea tix only from Rough Trade Covent Garden now)

Raw Patrick (Raw Patrick), Monday, 7 August 2006 11:11 (seventeen years ago) link

acid on sea - is this where you're trapped in a "party boat" for hours?? ugh

Euai Kapaui (tracerhand), Monday, 7 August 2006 11:40 (seventeen years ago) link

two weeks pass...
Bank holiday around the corner and not a peep in this thread.

I'm probably going to check out Carl Craig and Beyer @ Fabric on Saturday. Then carnival on Sunday, followed by Lasermagnetic and Underline. Not sure about Monday.

rchinn (rchinn), Wednesday, 23 August 2006 18:18 (seventeen years ago) link

i'm in norwich for the weekend :-(

toby (tsg20), Wednesday, 23 August 2006 20:16 (seventeen years ago) link

Oh! There you are, rolling dancing thread.

Shoegazing! Tonight! The Legion on Old Street! Any takers?

I don't know why I always post this on the rolling dancing thread, not the rolling gigging thread. But TSM are DJ-ing afterwards, so you know that we will stick around and Tanz, Tanz, Tanz to the Krauty goodness. Come vit us, darlink. It vill be kosmische! No, wait, it won't be Kosmische, it will be Sonic Cathedrals. But still.

Goldene Schnitt (kate), Thursday, 24 August 2006 09:45 (seventeen years ago) link

I need somewhere in London to take geeks for dancing on 9th September. It needs to be cheap and scruffy and play music you can dance to but isn't too hardcore - indie/rock would do - maybe Camden? Should I post this on the Camden thread? I haven't been dancing in London for many, many years.

Zora (Zora), Friday, 25 August 2006 08:36 (seventeen years ago) link

for me - TDK on saturday. possibly lost on sunday but have been feeling a tiny bit under the weather this week so it might be unwise, also have not got ticket yet either. monday - picnic and drinking in the park then off to 93 ft east for bank holiday lovelife. followed, maybe, by spontaneous t bar action. tue and wed OFF WORK HURRAH.

The Lex (The Lex), Friday, 25 August 2006 08:46 (seventeen years ago) link

i guess the mulletover part of crosscentral is the best, though cant say im totally overenthused about ellen allien and alex smoke.

garnier/mills at lost is looking a lot more tempting. im kind of otne now

-- (688), Friday, 25 August 2006 09:17 (seventeen years ago) link

Dude, whatever you do, don't hold out for Lost and then realise no one's going! Don't let this one pass you by!

I think Druzzis looks better than the Mulletover part, although I'm hoping Optimo/Smagghe will be on earlier than Ellen Allien. Alex Smoke can fuck off. I don't particularly care though, I'm happy just wandering and dancing to whatever sounds best.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 25 August 2006 09:26 (seventeen years ago) link

there are people going to Lost i think.

Konal Doddz (blueski), Friday, 25 August 2006 09:27 (seventeen years ago) link

i assume lost won't sell out? if i go - i really want to but as i said, not really at 100% this week - i'll be relying on tickets on the door

The Lex (The Lex), Friday, 25 August 2006 09:29 (seventeen years ago) link

yea yea, i know, it was a minor waver you are right about optimo, i forgot about that. druzzis is probably better. i think i thought the mulletover part was going to be more kind of hacke/barnes than it appears to be.

anyway, there is likely to be afterparty action, im sure:)

-- (688), Friday, 25 August 2006 09:31 (seventeen years ago) link

G, call me later.

Ed (dali), Friday, 25 August 2006 09:58 (seventeen years ago) link

My two cents, drop TDK and Lost. Garnier is hit-and-miss, Mills will bang out loop techno in that dull SEOne venue.

Druzzi's is a good call. Sunday could be the biggest possibly be the biggest party day ever.

could be good, could be bad, but, as it features soviet,

this thread is strangely silent about this weekend!

-- (688), Wednesday, 6 September 2006 18:34 (seventeen years ago) link

free compilation of stuff related to this night http://www.bleep.com/?label=Soviet

I do keep saying this but, I so wish these kind of line-ups (not just Soviet organised) would include a tiny bit of something lighter on the side (okay maybe this would be Arovane and Cursor Minor here?), it doesn't have to be a completely lame 'chill-out' room, just a little levity. 50% of that line up makes me smile, but the other 50% of yet more possible gnarliness just makes me frown. Anyway, not meaning to judge from afar just annoyed that I don't feel able to really justify a trip to London town for this.

i'm going home this weekend but if anyone's up for action on friday my friend john (aka datassette) (emily's bro) is playing at http://wonktronica.com/ tomorrow...

No interest in that Soviet thing at all, sorry.

This weekend = Cansei de Ser Sexy gig at 93ft East on Friday, being good on Saturday due to wedding on Sunday.

There is old persons' (i.e. indie) dance music at Spiral Scratch on Saturday. I may go to that, if I can find anyone to go with (as is the refrain of my life lately...)
