i have sent you a very special song dedication, ken ;) ;)

nathalie, the song you sent me isn't playing :(

Rubyredd, Monday, 20 August 2007 13:26 (sixteen years ago) link

oh man! Now I have something to look forward to when I get home :)

ken c, Monday, 20 August 2007 13:27 (sixteen years ago) link

no graffiti so mspaint will have to curb my drawing needs for now.

this is our wedding, look. i don't know why you had a quizzical pose there.

ken c, Monday, 20 August 2007 13:36 (sixteen years ago) link

did we have 'masquerade' as our theme??

i always stroll round with a quizzical look on my face.

Rubyredd, Monday, 20 August 2007 13:38 (sixteen years ago) link

i think it may have been a nuclear fallout theme.. illustrated by multicoloured dots, as nuclear fallouts are usually represented.

ken c, Monday, 20 August 2007 13:44 (sixteen years ago) link

my particular favourite is
looking for: whatever i can get

-- Rubyredd, Monday, August 20, 2007 1:17 PM (1 hour ago) Bookmark Link

^^ whats wrong with that?

-- Filey Camp, Monday, August 20, 2007 1:23 PM (1 hour ago) Bookmark Link

That one guy that hit it and quit it, Monday, 20 August 2007 13:48 (sixteen years ago) link

looking for: whuddya got

blueski, Monday, 20 August 2007 13:51 (sixteen years ago) link

looking for: You. Yes I mean YOU!

ken c, Monday, 20 August 2007 14:04 (sixteen years ago) link

xxpost Oh NOES! People wanting a bit of action!

Justine. :-( I'll try again. Or can I send you an MP3 file? It's a cover of Joni M by dEUS' Tom Barman. He's ROWR. :-)

nathalie, Monday, 20 August 2007 14:07 (sixteen years ago) link

I interpret "whatever I can get" as "you know, beer, sweets, drinking cider in fields, good times with cool people, that sort of thing" rather than "I will fuck anything with a pulse".

Matt DC, Monday, 20 August 2007 14:09 (sixteen years ago) link

that would all come under 'Friendship' surely. 'Random play' sounds so vague and poorly phrased also.

blueski, Monday, 20 August 2007 14:11 (sixteen years ago) link

whatever i can get: as mdc says, undefined could be anything good times
friendship: uhh, sounds a bit twee
random play: casual sex

Filey Camp, Monday, 20 August 2007 14:15 (sixteen years ago) link

i read 'WICG' as 'casual sex' and 'random play' as 'dicking around on facebook'. i *guess* friendship *could* sound twee.

That one guy that hit it and quit it, Monday, 20 August 2007 14:18 (sixteen years ago) link

I always assumed Random Play meant casual sex and WICG meant 'if you don't want to go out with me, at least shag me'.

emil.y, Monday, 20 August 2007 14:20 (sixteen years ago) link

if everyone on FB is interpreting 'random play' to mean that they might as well just have it say 'casual sex'.

blueski, Monday, 20 August 2007 14:25 (sixteen years ago) link

I interpret "whatever I can get" as "you know, beer, sweets, drinking cider in fields, good times with cool people, that sort of thing" rather than "I will fuck anything with a pulse".

Yeah, I also love a bit of the humping a dead body. Srsly "whatever I can get" could be interpreted as "serious relationship, one night stand, orgies,... I AM OPEN FOR ANYTHING!"

nathalie, Monday, 20 August 2007 14:27 (sixteen years ago) link

LOL being friended by someone I haven't seen since primary school who appears to now be (literally) an aspiring FHM High Street Honey. Classy!

Matt DC, Monday, 20 August 2007 14:29 (sixteen years ago) link

FHM?

nathalie, Monday, 20 August 2007 14:31 (sixteen years ago) link

"for him magazine", i think it originally stood for.

"fucking hell; men" might be better.

kinda like nuts or zoo but with aspirations towards GQ. which makes it about vile as vile can be.

grimly fiendish, Monday, 20 August 2007 14:34 (sixteen years ago) link

link please matt, can i add her and say i know her through you?

ken c, Monday, 20 August 2007 14:35 (sixteen years ago) link

(there's probably some small newsagent behind the station in amsterdam that orders a few copies in and sells them in brown paper bags, hidden inside hardcore dutch porn, nath.)

xpost

grimly fiendish, Monday, 20 August 2007 14:36 (sixteen years ago) link

Another girl from my (strict, Catholic) secondary school ended up doing pr0n as I remember. Mercifully not on Facebook.

Matt DC, Monday, 20 August 2007 14:41 (sixteen years ago) link

have you tried searching her name?

ken c, Monday, 20 August 2007 14:45 (sixteen years ago) link

ken. take a cold shower, dude.

grimly fiendish, Monday, 20 August 2007 14:55 (sixteen years ago) link

or buy a copy of FHM.

grimly fiendish, Monday, 20 August 2007 14:56 (sixteen years ago) link

he found out when he was renting a stack of Pr0n at the local videoshop.

nathalie, Monday, 20 August 2007 14:56 (sixteen years ago) link

i deleted all my 'what are you looking for' stuff when i realised i was entering a period of my relationship with a facebooking friend that i couldn't (and wouldn't want to) define within even their vague parameters. some things should be private (i know thats a very 20th century sentiment, but...)

stevie, Monday, 20 August 2007 15:08 (sixteen years ago) link

I deleted my 'what are you looking for' stuff when I realised I didn't actually have to put anything in there. I mean, I'm married and putting "friendship" as above seems a bit twee.

Colonel Poo, Monday, 20 August 2007 15:23 (sixteen years ago) link

I always find the sex thing strange. Why not put "gender" in there.

nathalie, Monday, 20 August 2007 15:25 (sixteen years ago) link

argh just found a load of my old workmates from 6-7 years ago. this is good but one of them set up a group for ex-employees which inevitably includes our ex boss who was a massive tosspot much of the time.

blueski, Monday, 20 August 2007 15:28 (sixteen years ago) link

now you can tell him!

-- nathalie, Monday, 20 August 2007 15:25 (11 minutes ago) Link

Prolly 'cause sex and gender aren't always the same thing, and we need to make sure the more predatory members of our nation's frats know exactly what they're getting into.

jessie monster, Monday, 20 August 2007 15:40 (sixteen years ago) link

yeah, i got confused when there was no "yes please" option like innit.

ken c, Monday, 20 August 2007 15:48 (sixteen years ago) link

and also, i discovered near the start of my facebook career, that changing your gender is not considered by facebook as an important enough event for the newsfeed!!!

ken c, Monday, 20 August 2007 15:49 (sixteen years ago) link

A couple days ago one of my friends told me, "I wanted to tell you, since a couple other people know already, that if I were to post my relationship status on facebook, it wouldn't say single anymore." She could've said "I wanted to tell you that I'm dating someone," but didn't. What does that SAY about our TIMES?

Maria, Monday, 20 August 2007 18:24 (sixteen years ago) link

haha that's the kind of thing i say when i am embarrassed abt some similar declaration -- i go SO round the house w/it that everyone is left less the wiser than when i started ("wtf, either mark is dating or he is redecorating the bathroom or... something is difft, unless it isn't?")

= it sez nothing abt our times except some ppl (ie me) are circumlocutory ninnies sometimes

mark s, Monday, 20 August 2007 18:27 (sixteen years ago) link

tell me what's going on on facebook today please!

ken c, Tuesday, 21 August 2007 11:59 (sixteen years ago) link

nothing new in your news feed, ken. did you like my song?

Rubyredd, Tuesday, 21 August 2007 12:05 (sixteen years ago) link

nothing new? so it's old hat that he's gangbanged by a bunch of pink rabbits?

nathalie, Tuesday, 21 August 2007 12:06 (sixteen years ago) link

oh shit, i forgot to mention that. thanks nath :)

Rubyredd, Tuesday, 21 August 2007 12:10 (sixteen years ago) link

The song was smashing justine! And I'm glad there was some pink rabbit gangbang action on my newsfeed!

What's happening with your feeds?

ken c, Tuesday, 21 August 2007 12:35 (sixteen years ago) link

"justine and w4lter are now friends"

i think i have more ilxors as friends on facebook, than any IRL friends. but i love you all!

i'm waiting for my song dedication, ken.

Rubyredd, Tuesday, 21 August 2007 13:11 (sixteen years ago) link

Haha, I have just found a gap in the facebook block - i can't access the main bits, but i can use the applications!

ken c, Tuesday, 21 August 2007 13:18 (sixteen years ago) link

i love my song, ken :)

Rubyredd, Tuesday, 21 August 2007 13:44 (sixteen years ago) link

ken c, Tuesday, 21 August 2007 13:47 (sixteen years ago) link

Good, play yr shot then.

(anyone else want to challenge me, feel free, I need distractions from packing away all my clothes)

ailsa, Tuesday, 21 August 2007 13:50 (sixteen years ago) link

the shot has been played!

ken c, Tuesday, 21 August 2007 14:03 (sixteen years ago) link

facebook groups really are just a way for you to collect a bunch of opinions you agree with to present in a column on your profile know where you stand on things i guess. not including the "jokey" ones.

blueski, Thursday, 23 August 2007 14:01 (sixteen years ago) link

that's bollocks, the holloway road/cally road appreciation society is a really close-knit, informative community!
