Ostensibly he billed himself as a hip-hopper, but being a tall, lanky white guy from Texas who coined his stage name after a strange quote by televangelist Oral Roberts, he wasn't exactly going to get himself played on "Yo!MTV Raps" Instead, he found more favour in the then- burgeoning "industrial" scene of the early `90's, which he'd soon grow out of. Not sure what became of him after the slightly dissapointing ...SPIDER album.

I still have his last two discs (CDs, not vinyl), but am thinking of ordering the re-releases as they contain a few additional mixes of the more commercial songs.
Insomuch as classification goes, I'm not sure I'd even try.
While some of the traxx can be filed under hip-hop, alt. rock, etc. most of his music covers such a range of genres that it can't be filed into one category. The genres span not only between songs but within them.
I've played the discs for friends and the general concensis is one of either love or hate ... no real middle ground.
JMHO
But really, WTF do I know? I was about the only kid in my elementry school who wasn't drooling over MJs Thriller ;-)

I think I've heard the third in its entirety only once, which is why I hesitated to include it
No idea where he is in 2013 but apparently he was DJing in Dallas in 2009: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MC_900_Ft._Jesus

Anyone remember a parody of The City Sleeps except instead of ilghting fires, it goes "I make the donuts while the city sleeps"?

He has a YouTube account and comments on his own videos sometimes.http://www.youtube.com/user/900heyzeus
Doubt we'll ever see a new album.

He DJs around town occasionally and I see him at shows. As far as I know he has no interest in recording again.

The Beavis & Butthead commentary on the video for "If I Only Had a Brain" is pretty classic.

One Deja Vu bachelor party decades ago, one dancer used "The City Sleeps" for her stage music. Felt marginally less nerdy for waiting until the routine was over to ask the DJ the name of the song.

Necro-revive but...
During my brief stint at the college radio station, I found an MC 900 Foot Jesus thing on vinyl that prominently featured a woman talking about religious things and an organ. It was super weird and spooky and I liked to play it while I was alone in the station. Is that "I'm Going to Heaven"?― Eppy (Eppy), Wednesday, May 17, 2006 6:24 PM (thirteen years ago)

I heard Bonnie Prince Billy's "Gezundheit" today and wracked my brane trying to wonder where I'd heard that weird sermon before and finally realized it was the same as this. Anyone know what the original source of the sample is?
