I live in the same area of Towson as my mother and 7 year old brother. So, I have seen this situation take form. My mother had been letting my brother play with an 11 year old who lives down the street. I always thought that was a big age stretch. A neighbor called my mom one day and said the 11 year old had been smelling like shit lately. So she made him and her kids play outside. Her dog was furiously sniffing under her sons bed so she too a look. Shit was smeared under the bottom of the bed. She warned my mom to take a look under her beds as well.

My mom didn't find anything under her beds. But she did find shit smeared under her couch. A pile of shit under her TV stand and one Thomas the Train Table had even been smeared!

barf bag special (mistymartinez), Monday, 24 October 2005 13:02 (eighteen years ago) link

10/23/05 08:16 pm - wonderful
Did some tidying up today, and I found that someone had smeared cat shit on some of my print-outs.

This is not possible - they were in the living room, and the cat boxes are in one of the closets.
I mean, my cats don't carry their cat shit around the apartment with them.

Nice try, though. You're not destroying anything. I can always go back into Voyager
and make more printouts, including printouts of the po to indicate that the item
was replaced.

This just shows how scatalogically minded these people are.

It's true I don't clean the cat box enough - but I am depressed and otherwise
occupied, not to mention suffering from chronic headaches.

But why do I find myself defending myself like this, when they're not
even supposed to be here.

And this reminds me of a fight I had with Ken about not cleaning the cat box
enough.

It also reminds me of the 'how often do you change your towel' thread
on ilx, because I probably wasn't changing my towel enough for their
satisfaction.

I mean, these people have to break into your apartments to get
dirt on you.

And I'm sure they rationalize the fact that they use a key - it's
not burglary if someone gave you the key.

I mean, you would not believe the rationalizations these people
use. I can only hope they all end up in prison, where they'll
actually have to face someone who tells them what they did.

Have you ever talked to someone whom you know is a criminal?

If you have, you know what I'm talking about - the way their eyes
shift around, the way they can't talk without giving themselves away....

One of their justifications is that I don't own the property, that I'm
a renter, and I can only afford that apartment by someone else's
grace.

And I know "Ken" buys into all of this shit - he just rationalizes and
rationalizes. He's obsessed with education, the education he feels
he was cheated out of, and he tries to sound all 'philosophical'
when he rationalizes the most heinous things.

For record shopping, go to the Sound Garden in Fells Point, Baltimore, there are some other good stores around there too. DC doesn't really have good record stores any more. Go to Sonar, maybe? The Ottobar?

I like DC, it is much more fancy and uptight and expensive though.

County Executive Steve Schuh said Thursday he will declare a public health emergency as soon as next week in response to a "heroin epidemic" in Anne Arundel County.

"It's not like it was back in the old days. That drug is not just sort of in pockets in the gritty urban neighborhoods in minority communities," Schuh told the BWI Business Partnership.

"It's everywhere, it's north, south, east, west … you name, it's there. It's every racial type, every income level. It's absolutely everywhere. And it's going to get worse if we don't go after it in a very serious way."

the solution is more arrests & prosecutions, mandatory penalties for "repeat offenders" which has worked amazingly in the past and made us feel very good because 10 years in DOC will cure anyone's heroin addiction, right? i was also disgusted to read that harford county is sending a narcotics detective to every overdose call, which is sure to motivate more people to run away rather than calling 911. best practices.

fish or click bait (how's life) wrote this on thread rolling "Is This Racist?" thread on board I Love Everything on Apr 20, 2015

For the past couple of weeks, one of my facebook friends (a high school buddy's spouse) has been posting up updates or comments like "they're not racist, they're just BAD POLICE. there are white police shooting black kids, black police shooting black kids, black police shooting white kids. why does everybody have to keep bringing race into this?" I've been biting my tongue pretty hard because she's my friends wife and like, I'm going to be charitable and imagine they are in disagreement about this already and hopefully having fights at home about it, but holy fuck.

I just defriended this chick because her fb posts have escalated into full-on shrieking "al sharpton don't you dare come to my city with your race baiting" and "now that the national guard is here, they won't be as patient with you as the baltimore pd has. if you don't get in line you will get shot!" I was all like, ok high school friend's wife whatever, but I really got no time for this shit.

how's life, Tuesday, 28 April 2015 12:41 (eight years ago) link

i feel better about people who are outwardly racist today than i do about ppl go to baltimore unless they have to suddenly "disgusted" at the "violence" and posting things like this
https://fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xap1/v/t1.0-9/11113773_965056346867280_2984175839281298353_n.jpg?oh=1d3a6c7cef65106890ba4338e4447bd7&oe=55E4467F&__gda__=1436136355_c43d526f18502e108447c392bed96e71
like, it's a picture of buildings whose owners pay no property taxes, in the part of baltimore built for white ppl to feel safe in, that is now being patrolled by national guard. and you love police. it is so peaceful.

Oh, Baltimore!
Have you forgotten who you are?
You're the place of Babe Ruth, Brooks Robinson and Jim Palmer.
You're Johnny Unitas, Sugar Ray Leonard and Reggie Jackson.
You're Esskay Hot Dogs, Berger Cookies and Phillips Crabcakes.
You're The Star-Spangled Banner.
You're the Raven, never flitting, still sitting.
You're Francis Scott Key and Edgar Allen Poe.
You're Blue-crabs, Bertha's Mussels and Natty-Boh!
You're Cab Calloway, Billie Holiday and Mama Cass.
You're Frank Zappa, David Byrne and John Waters.
You're Fort McHenry, Camden Yards and the USS Constellation.
You're The National Aquarium, Penn Station and Harborplace.
You're Johns Hopkins, Loyola and Md Institute of Art.
You're Mt. Washington, Federal Hill and Fell's Point.
You're The Owl, The Hippo and The Cat's Eye.
You're as sweet as Domino Sugar and you're McCormick Spice.
Don't ever forget, you're everything nice.
Once upon a midnight dreary, Nevermore!
You're The Pride of Baltimore.
