after watching the j's blow a 4 run lead in the 8th it was nice to see canada beat taiwan (who are no slouches) yesterday. go stubby¡

I imagine I'll watch some of the games, in that I likely saw a number of the Cuban players in the 5 games I saw on my trip in March (I haven't seen their Olympic roster yet -- they're the strong favorite). I assume if the NBA schmucks qualify, so do baseball players who make under $200 a year?

so far canada is on top at 4-0 but the real test is coming up with matches against japan, cuba and australia.

i'm keeping you people informed wether you like it or not.

well, it's cuba vs. australia in the silver/gold match & canada vs. japan in the bronze.

if it wasn't for australia's fluke upset win vs. japan we'd be playing the aussie (who we beat 11-0 earlier) for the bronze. but we're not and japan's a really good team. but if we somehow pull this off a win tomorrow i guarantee ernie whitt will be the next blue jays manager.

Anyone get me a direct link to the US softball team's stats that bypasses potential spoilers on the front page?

fifteen years pass...

fyi the premier 12 tournament is being held for a few more days in tokyo and is one of the ways teams qualify for the olympics. the usa is not doing too well, although i can't say i care enough to learn the details

anyway if you're jonesing, they apparently have live streams when the games are played: https://premier12.wbsc.org/en/2019
