Anyone else remember this great show? On before Saturday morning cartoons. I remember getting up extra early to watch. And that damn San Diego chicken.

i only missed one episode of that ever and it was the one jim rice was on. i was bummed. was it on channel 5 in boston? i seem to remember turning on the baseball bunch and leaving the tv on wcvb for the rest of the day because i'd also watch "candlepins for cash" or whatever the name of don gillis' bowling show was. it wasn't candlepins for cash, that was bob gamere's show. goddamn it was on for like 30 years and i've forgotten it already.

but yeah, baseball bunch. i know everyone on my baseball team would watch it too because whatever tips they showed on saturday there would be 20 10-year old's doing the same thing on tuesday night practice. was ozzie smith showing proper bunt techniques? tuesday night there would be 20 kids squaring around every time they were up during practice.

i hated that damn chicken though.

"No runs, no drips, no errors."

Johnny Bench = zen ad spokesmen.

The Ozzie Smith episode was my favorite. And your OTM about replicating what everyone saw on the BB at practice.

I remember an episode with Goose Gossage where they set up a string outline of a strike zone and Goose stood back and threw balls rapid-fire at the strings and never missed. At that moment I knew I would never be a Major League pitcher. (Heck, I was never even a Little League pitcher.)

Haha, yeah, best ad ever! And the best thing was, he was demonstrating the paint on a *BENCH*.
