I'd imagine blissium ftw

Matt, Saturday, 17 May 2008 08:34 (fifteen years ago) link

You seem to be counting out the innate perversity of AskADrunkites. Not to mention the blissium-induced flubber fingers, night blindness and hypersalivation.

Aimless, Saturday, 17 May 2008 17:07 (fifteen years ago) link

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

ILX System, Tuesday, 20 May 2008 23:01 (fifteen years ago) link

That raised a nasty lump. I think its going to bruise.

Aimless, Wednesday, 21 May 2008 00:59 (fifteen years ago) link

Wait for it...

Aimless, Wednesday, 21 May 2008 18:04 (fifteen years ago) link

...brace yourself...

Aimless, Wednesday, 21 May 2008 20:28 (fifteen years ago) link

....steady.....

Matt, Wednesday, 21 May 2008 22:22 (fifteen years ago) link

Automatic thread bump. This poll's results are now in.

ILX System, Wednesday, 21 May 2008 23:01 (fifteen years ago) link

Millions of hosannahs rise fragrantly to the rafters, while the multitudes of the blissium besotted blot the ground with their foreheads and raise their bums on high in adulation of these results, while the dusky-throated grebes and sunken-eyed shmottish fiends skulk furtively back to the shadows.

Aimless, Thursday, 22 May 2008 01:31 (fifteen years ago) link

I'm most surprised that there were seven votes. This is surely the only recorded instance of a 333% voter turnout in independently observed democratic history.

Matt, Thursday, 22 May 2008 15:54 (fifteen years ago) link

Makes our local council elections look a tawdry farrago indeed

Matt, Thursday, 22 May 2008 15:55 (fifteen years ago) link

Admiral Farragut voted?

Michael White, Thursday, 22 May 2008 17:50 (fifteen years ago) link

on the qt, he voted smottish

Matt, Thursday, 22 May 2008 18:44 (fifteen years ago) link

Smottish nationalist?

Hey, Matt, did you ever get my e-mail?

Michael White, Thursday, 22 May 2008 22:33 (fifteen years ago) link

Would a gentleman ask another gentleman such a thing in such a way? No. He would get his butler to do it. Stylishly. Involving a calling card and white gloves.

Aimless, Friday, 23 May 2008 04:36 (fifteen years ago) link

I have been called many things ici bas but gentleman only in jest, mon cher Aimless.

Michael White, Friday, 23 May 2008 14:03 (fifteen years ago) link

AAD seems to have been cured of its jest congestion.

Aimless, Friday, 23 May 2008 20:29 (fifteen years ago) link

I tried to vote for grebes.... Well truthfully I was doing the typing and Guinness was doing the voting.

Dunno for sure if I was successful or not though.

еdë §téè£, Saturday, 24 May 2008 02:35 (fifteen years ago) link

Sadly you vted for Bitterns, and they weren't even an option. Poor show.

An email? Why no, Michael, I don't believe I did. Did you send it to gmail?

Matt, Saturday, 24 May 2008 21:42 (fifteen years ago) link

I sent it via webmail. Is that not up-to-date? Mine is and I do have a question.

Michael White, Tuesday, 27 May 2008 14:05 (fifteen years ago) link

We all have questions. For example, when stuffing one's clothes with newspaper before going to bed, is it better to use the Daily Express or the Daily Mail?

Aimless, Wednesday, 28 May 2008 00:44 (fifteen years ago) link

under no circumstances is it acceptable to use either, not even for that, it presupposes that you've bought them, and that, frankly, is not done. In fact, should one have even found them, maybe in a ditch, or pulled from beneath the chilled corpse of an unfortunate vagrant then still no. I know of no gentleman of any circumstance who wouldn't be deeply ashamed to be associated with either title. Most chilled corpses of my acquaintance would still opt for the LRB, in a pinch

Matt, Wednesday, 28 May 2008 23:05 (fifteen years ago) link

Also Michael, ack? I=luddite, wouldn't know webmail if it bit me in the teeth, message me on facebook? Lord, message as a verb, surely these are the End Times. Again.

Matt, Wednesday, 28 May 2008 23:12 (fifteen years ago) link

two weeks pass...

huh

kushy rubs, Tuesday, 17 June 2008 18:43 (fifteen years ago) link

Precisely. I couldn't have said it better myself.

Aimless, Friday, 20 June 2008 03:45 (fifteen years ago) link

You are the pinnacle of modesty Aimless......

I am ready and willing to swear under oath that I know for a fact that you HAVE said it better on many occasions and concerning many assorted topics!

It is this unwillingness to step up into the limelight and face your adoring audience that has been your down fall all these many years.

Well, that and warm Brandy.

Oh yeah, the chilled Schnapps has done its share too.

As a matter of fact most any distilled liquid has led you to down falling.... I mean falling down, stumbling and mumbling to yourself, and staggering about, suddenly deciding that the plants in the hall "need watering", sleeping on the front stoop with your face on the WELCOME mat (the hundreds of pock marks on your face from the little rubber nubs were hilarious though), and finally there was the entire weekend spent staring at the oven.

What I am trying to say is that even on your worst day, you could do better than that with half your brain tied behind your back.

еdë §téè£, Friday, 20 June 2008 04:44 (fifteen years ago) link

huh

Aimless, Friday, 20 June 2008 16:41 (fifteen years ago) link

I certainly could have said that better. It's more of 'eh?' than a 'huh?', though at times it's 'wah?'-ish.

Michael White, Friday, 20 June 2008 16:44 (fifteen years ago) link

eh?

Matt, Friday, 20 June 2008 22:29 (fifteen years ago) link

I'm hornswoggled. Literally.

Aimless, Saturday, 21 June 2008 17:11 (fifteen years ago) link

one year passes...

I still am. Literately.

Aimless, Sunday, 26 July 2009 04:31 (fourteen years ago) link

Speaking of Literary Masterpieces....

I hear that you have literally littered a litany of literature lately.

Lies?

three years pass...

Lies? It's come to where I hardly know any more.

btw, does anyone know where I can score some blissium? My mental fog is starting to clear and no one wants to come near me when that happens.

Aimless, Saturday, 13 April 2013 19:09 (eleven years ago) link

ten years pass...

AAD seems to have been cured of its jest congestion.

Having inserted the simple phrase "jest congestion" into all-seeing and all-knowing Google I was shocked to discover that all the search results were in Polish. I hardly know what to make of this discovery. I thought I was speaking good english.

more difficult than I look (Aimless), Tuesday, 12 March 2024 03:56 (one month ago) link
