I have found that a pipe cleaner, used like furry floss, works better for me.

You might try that some time!

I was thinking perhaps of using trained caterpillars. So far, though, I haven't identified a species willing to undertake the journey voluntarily, and I have found that jamming them in just makes things worse rather than better.
