It's a beautiful color, and the way the sides flutter around the back has a certain v graceful calla-lily appeal to me...unfort from the front it looks like it just doesn't fit her bust. Oh Keira Knightly-paws!

Grey is my favorite color and I think it looks good on everyone (except v light shades). What is the story of all this self-consciousness? I do not understand. Browns, too...all I wear is grey & brown, for the most part.

Well, I'm pale and my hair is sort of blah light brown, not that much different from my skin (eyelashes and eyebrows are blonde and invisible). I'd wear that dress but I would need something really colorful around my neck, a scarf or jewelry. And prob a bright lipstick.

But accessorizing is about 80% of the fun of getting dressed, so that's perfect!

The only color I can't really wear is RED bcz it highlights my enviable acne.

I wear a lot of black with blue, yellow.. never could get into brown. I think putting on brown makes me a granola hippie or something. Plus with the red hair I'd become an apple tree!

(PS I am v self-conscious abt my skin too but I'm trying a new phase of "no one notices as much as I do" and going out anyway. So far no complaints. Most people aren't really very observant, on the whole.)

(this is actually quite true - xpost to laurel - even one of my close friends, who is pretty observant and fashiony was really surprised when i mentioned once how i was feeling lacklustre b/c my skin was crappy that day - she said she thought my skin always looked good! it certainly does not! but i do usually wear at least some sheer foundation or cover-up tho. on the other hand, i'm sure that there are some people who totally notice - and of course their opinion counts the most right? Next time I get my hair done it will be a magentaish red, which will really screw me - I've got a red hoodie that compliments this shade of red perfectly, and will probably be unwearable when I have pink tones. Sigh. Dressing really was a lot easier when I had blonde hair, but I'm only young once!

I am confused about the possible Saleisha.. she looks a LOT like her but I haven't seen those pics before, and the Livejournal ANTM community is very thorough about posting any that are found..

Yeah I am definitely NOT wearing weirdly shaped, awkward-length black pants and a tunic that would be right at home on a lunch lady rn, definitely not.

I legitimately got stopped on the street the other day and asked if I work in fashion, hahahahaha. It really made me feel good about the awkward mid-calf army boots I threw on because of the rain with my regular black pencil skirt. But mostly my hair distracts and confuses people; my clothes are boring

tattoos go really well with sleeveless housedresses imo ... and I just realized I forgot to post to this thread about my LA vacation which was partially spent looking for vintage housedresses. I figured that outside of Florida, LA would have a great selection. Was a bit disappointed tbh but I got a couple gems.

one day I will have tattoos too! But I bought 3 of the same black spandexy pencil skirt a few weeks ago because of my new job (& because I love them), so my wardrobe isn't going anywhere exciting anytime soon.

the most noticeable thing about LA vintage stores vs. SF Bay Area ones -- LA stores are so much bigger!

i did some thrift shopping in maine and it was pretty great -- i got a shirt + some earrings in belfast and was wowed by the selection in bangor even though i didn't have any room in my luggage :(

ahh I have been so all over the place since we got back from vacation that I have not had a chance to get on here and say CARL! I got the dress and it is beautiful and my exact preferred shade of blue!! :) I have not tried it on yet because my house is a disaster and I almost immediately lost it in a pile of clothes while unpacking but I am going to dig it out this week and possibly wear to a winery* this weekend!

*I really hate wine tasting type activities but sometimes that's what you gotta do on a girls' weekend to be a fun team player type friend

You're so welcome! It would be a good dress to wear to a winery because it's pretty comfortable and uncomplicated so you can get wasted in it without worrying about a wardrobe malfunction.

God I know. Also I'll be riding in a car from Chicago so something comfortable would be nice, and this fits that bill, too. And it's long enough that I won't feel like I need to wear stockings.

I don't know about hair accessories (my hair is really short rn anyway). I have a pair of shoes I planned to wear but I would be very interested in seeing what shoes stylish people would recommend to see if my shoe instinct is anywhere near correct.

shoes? i know you don't like heels (i don't either) but i think you could probably wear whatever slightly dressy shoes you want because the shoes will not be the focal point of your outfit, the print of the dress will. the plainer the better in a situation like that imo.

I've visited Milwaukee and loved it. It has a flying art museum (sort of - it has flapping wings), a great market, nice buildings...

I've been to Milwaukee one other time also for a wedding.

I was just in Delaware last week.
