I'm looking for a version of Anne Peebles' "I Can't Stand the Rain"...

The above track wasrecorded with a full band, and another version (which I heard on the radio a while ago) with acoustic guitar, tambourine and what sounded like a wurlitser. Its this version I'm after, and I haven't been able to find an mp3 of it anywhere, or the name of the CD its on. Can anyone shed any light on where I can get hold of a copy, how much it'll cost and what the record's called?

Cheers.

For what it's worth, it's Ann (no trailing e) Peebles. The very good alternate version you're talking about is on Full Time Love from 1992. I think it is a Wurlitzer, and I think it's played by Don Bryant, a great soul singer in his own right, and Ann's husband.

I stand corrected. Thanks Martin, I'll look into getting hold of a copy soon.

Also a hit for (Frank Farian proteges) Eruption, wasn't it?

This thread made me google to see whatever happened to Ann Peebles: stopped performing after a stroke in 2012. I saw a double bill with her and Otis Clay (RIP) back when that Full Time Love album came out, fantastic show.

I don't really like any of these albums (Dan Peterson), Tuesday, 16 May 2017 18:06 (six years ago) link
