He has such a great voice, but his voice SUCKS with a softer sound. Yet he likes that softer sound.

I'm sorry, but he has officially sold out to that Pop shit.
I can't believe that one of the creators of Grunge, (a genre that said "Fuck you" to the world, that took down the repetitiveness of Mainstream music at the time) and also frontman of another great Alternative band (being Audioslave) has sold out to this shit.

Haven't liked much of anything he's done since Soundgarden, and have been pretty unenthused about Timbaland the last couple years, so my expectations were fairly low, especially after I heard "Long Gone" compared to "Apologize," but I kinda like it! the snippets on YouTube of 3 other songs, though...ugh.

I've just come to this realization, as well. I mean, I never got into Audioslave but the man was literally a god to me growing up based off Badmotorfinger alone so I will always kind of be half-interested in what he's doing

i kinda would like to have heard them do something together back in like 1996 when they were both at the top of their game, but i'm not sure they would've even made a decent record then, let alone now.

i kinda agree, but i feel like CC's voice is so shot that if he was gonna do a record like this he should've done it a long time ago. it could work with his restrained Temple Of The Dog-era vocal style, but not this terrible rasp.

Bits of this actually work but from the Mario Kart intro onwards it's very difficult not to burst out laughing. Especially the "rub up against me" bits, ewww old man put it away. Would have worked better as a mechanistic Led Zeppelin behemoth with twiddly Indian samples but they're kind of trying to play it straight Timberlake too much of the time.

Not including a Timba-style stop/start clattery bass-heavy version of Spoonman = colossal wasted opportunity.
