Had a chance to catch them this past Saturday at Don Hill's. (I know, MisShapes, but I got caught up in a "First ever U.S. performance, and on Halloween, no less!" group hoopla.)
So, was pleasantly surprised. They're a lot more noise-y and messy, and a lot less polished, than I expected. Of course, those things helped them alienate a vast majority of the crowd, but I was into it--I thought they were much more dynamic on stage than on their EP, which I haven't found to be the case enough lately. Also, the drummer seemed as though he might actually be kind of stellar.
Anybody else seen them and have an opinion either way?

I was terribly unimpressed. They rode the whole "we'll play the same two notes for a long time" schtick far longer than anyone with their haircuts deserves to. Most entertaining part of the evening: their bat-like singer getting baited into a fight with a hooligan, then getting beat up, then their set ended.

eleven years pass...
I'm wondering if they're one of the longest-running 5-piece bands with their original line up still intact. 15(?) years may not sound like a lot but when you think of how few bands there are with 5 members and no bail-outs..

5-piece, you might be right. (U2 might hold the record for 4-piece? Coming up on forty years. ZZ Top for trio, surely; not even Rush could claim that.)

It's also kinda remarkable that they literally grew up together in the band now and have also managed the trick of coming up with songs that are great singles without repeating what they've done. Hell of a knack.
