I really like one song that's on a comp I have - something like "All That Will Be Has Become," and I also like one of the songs on their myspace page. That's all I've heard. What say you, ILM?

"All That Will Be Has Become" was definitely the centerpiece of that album, and one of my favorite songs of 2004. But the rest of it was pretty good too.

Is something new coming up?

Supposedly a disc on Thrill Jockey in early 2007.

Wanna like this band because their guitar tones are killer and their records sound really good but having a hard time getting past singer dude's too-obvious English folkie influence. Every melody sounds like something Bert Jansch cast off. Is it just me?

Is it really bad that my favourite song by these is their cover of "the Highwayman", which isn't really indicative of their main sound?

it seems like it's just a mellower version of their sound?

My favorite thing by them is still their impossible-to-find version of "Underneath the Arches." It is on their myspace page though:

a real slow burner band, they just keep sticking around and doing their thing and getting steadily better at it
