The algorithm just fed me Jack Kittel's version from the mid-seventies, which I think was the first one to be some kind of hit or get some kind of airplay or something or maybe it's just some people's favorite. There do seem to be a bunch of versions out there, as pointed out, um, upthread, including by Elvis Costello and Andre Williams.
