Right now, this the only album I personally tangibly own that came out in the Sixties (it's difficult for me to not buy anything post-punk related), but hearing "Skordetider (Harvest Times)" on WFMU about two years ago made my jaw plop open for all 25 minutes -- what a fucking build! -- of the composition. I found a few other songs, loved them, and immediately purchased the album. I have to be in a certain mood for it but when it's on it's ineffably stellar and I can only listen to it in full. Absolutely, absolutely classic. I'll probably have more to say later when I'm better able to gather my thoughts on it, as I have some pretty odd things to say about it that will probably prove rather "What the fuck?"

the New Trad Gras Och Stenar record is actually really good overall, the first track is a fucking killer especially. I could listen to the riff forever.

The box contains their debut album from 1968 Sov Gott Rose-Marie and Hemåt from 1969, along with three full bonus albums with live material dating from 1967-1969. Member Thomas Tidholm on the recordings: "We talked about making the music stop and stand perfectly still. And that did happen sometimes. We never let go of the drone. We hardly made any key changes and never changed chords." Thomas Tidholm and Anders Lind, the engineer for the early albums, have listened to two cases full of live recordings from 1967 to 1969. After editing them, Anders has restored and mastered the live material from the old cassette tapes and for the two original albums -- original analog master tapes have been used. Digitally transferred at 96 khz/24 bits and gently remastered by Anders Lind.

Saw Träd, Gräs och Stenar last night and despite them being deeply exhausted it was a great set. Wished venue had a mess of bean bags and everyone could flop on the floor though.

So Amazon has listed new CD versions of Remains 1, Remains 2, Remains 3 and Sov-Gott Marie from Arcangelo, which appears to be a legit Japanese reissue label, for many months and the release date kept getting pushed back. According to Amazon they were finally released February 9th, but they all popped up that day as immediately wither "currently unavailable" or only available through second-hand sellers for $50-$60 a pop (double the already high list price of $31.99 each). The only other place I can even find these listed is pre-orders through Bullmoose, but that release date keeps getting pushed back as well and now sits at February 16th.
Anyway, has anyone heard anything about these at all or where to find them? Really would love to pick up CDs of this stuff for a decent price, but I'm not sure these even actually exist.

There's a review of an oral history book on the current Wire that I need to look further into. I don't think they mention a language it's in. Would think it should be Swedish but a lot of people there are Anglophone anyway.I don't remember reading a translation of an oral history. Would wonder how successful any translation could be. Being way more than one voice etc.
