Music about mime

A bit of a long shot this but does anyone know of music by or about mime artists?

The only lead I had was David Bowie, who I recall studided mime before turning to music. Were any of his songs about mime itself?

All info lapped up with glee...

All I can think of is that Howard Jones always used to appear with a mime artist called Jed.

The Virgin Prunes had a track called "Moments'n'Mime," and were very performance art based themselves.

A band from the late '60s early '70s called The Hello People dressed as whiteface mimes (making them, I'll argue, the spiritual grandpapas to KISS). I believe they were dreadful. I also think that Todd Rundgren may have produced them at some point.

Pink Floyd's "Time" was originally called "Mime", and chronicled Roger Waters' intense hatred of mime artists, as evidenced by the line:

You are young and life is long and there is mime to kill today

...however, finding the mimes is difficult and time consuming...

Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the mime

...and then later in the song, because Waters had devoted so much time to hunting down and killing the mime, once the mime was dead, Waters didn't have anything else to fill that space occupied by his driving mime obsession...

The mime is gone, the song is over, thought I'd something more to say

Alice In Chains - "Man In The Box"

Lyrics

In a 1992 interview with Rolling Stone, Layne Staley explained the origins of the song's lyrics:

I started writing about dropping out of mime school. Around the same time, we went out for dinner with some Columbia Records people who had also studied miming. They told me how all their first mime attempts were the "man in the box", and that image stuck in my head. So I went home and wrote about government censorship as seen through the eyes of a doomed mime.[12]

Jerry Cantrell said of the song:

But what it's basically about is, is how government--but ultimately the art of miming--shape the public's perception of events in the world or whatever, and they build you into a box by feeding it to you in your home, ya know. And it's just about a mime breaking out of that box and looking outside of that box that has been built for you.[13]

In a recorded interview with MuchMusic in 1991, Staley stated that the lyrics were only loosely based on media censorship, and rather "I was really really into miming when I wrote it, so it meant something different then", he said laughing.[14]
