Fantastic album: Hit the City, Strange Religon, Methamphetamine Blues, Little Willie John, Can't Come Down...all amazing. He is a truly great singer with a lot of heart and soul. I'm surprised how little love Lanegan gets on ILM.

i don't have this yet, but, i gots to concurr.
it's a treat, this album. the man's in tip-top form, grizzeled and mountainous. like Bo'ceephus himself. but with better whiskey soaked and ciggy smoked voice.

hit the city is a stand out, but meth blues takes the cake.
the EP's pretty gawd-damned awesome, too.

funnily enough, i listened to bubblegum this morning, for only the second time, during an irritating and pointless round-trip in the car. it didn't sound as good as i remembered, although the fact i was in a foul mood might have clouded my judgement.

Bought it a couple of months back on the strength of the QOTSA/PJ involvement, liked it and it's still near the top of the pile.

By some quirk of fate, it's the first disc of his I've heard - what's the next step, either with the Screaming Trees or his solo stuff?

"House A Home" was so damned good I immediately went out and bought Whiskey for the Holy Ghost but the rest of the album didn't match up. But maybe I was just 19. I wanna hear the newer stuff for sure.

From "Whiskey," check out "Pendulum."

Agree that "House a Home" is the best song on that album.

But "Bubblegum" is good all the way thru...
